Do you cut your dies apart???

Do you cut your dies apart when they have several pieces? If you do what tool do you use. I seen one on a web site made just for that but can't for the life of me remember where it was.

I've never done this. Can't think that any of my dies have several parts to them.

I have the leaves and vintage ornament ones from Impression Obsession and yes, I did cut those apart. I just used my Tim Holtz Tonic scissors (going well up into the V of the blades to avoid any risk of damaging the tips) and smoothed the nubs left on the dies with a bit of sandpaper so there was nothing catchy on there.

I'd say check your tool box for tin snips or pliers that have a bit designed to snip through wire if you don't have any of those really strong scissors around rather than buying something marketed as a die snip (which is likely to have a premium price attached to it!).

Yes, I have a small pair of "pliers" that can snip thin wire. Purchased them at the hardware store years ago....they come in handy. Sometimes I use a metal rasp to smooth the sharp points that result from cutting.

Yes, I cu them apart and I use my button shank remover because it can get close to the die for a smooth cut.

Not unless and until I absolutely have to. I used to do beading and have a pair of micro side cutting pliers/snips that I use and have now found its way into my stamping tool box.
