...another Shoebox Swap for NW Washington and Lower BC
(or for anyone beyond those borders who just loves to play with stamps)
Date... Saturday, September 28th Time... 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
8:30 - 9:00 = arrival and coffee
9:00 we start crafting
Place... Laurel Church (just north of Bellingham, WA)
Registration fee... $11 ($3 for the church and $8 for the fun stuff)
Heres the Plan... Design a project (card, basket, box, etc) Create 24 kits of your project. Put the kits in a shoebox or small basket Each project/shoebox will be set at a marked space Attendees/swappers will move from project to project . Some people will finish faster than others, but there is plenty of space to work side by side when needed. Each of us will go home with 23 new projects.
Prizes... Lots of goodies for everyone!
Door prizes!
AND vote for your favorite project .
Registration list... Strictly limited to 24 swappers . I will add a waiting list if necessary.
Please...It is easier if each attendee is a Splitcoast member and signs up with her real name and user name. "Group" sign-ups are confusing to me.
Send your registration fee to me... ***New address. Don't copy from last year Garnet Parker
5868 Crystal Springs Lane
Bellingham WA, 98226
Preparation: * Design and create your card or other item. * Assemble 2 finished examples one for the working table and one for the "vote here" table. * Prepare enough kits for 24 duplicates. Do a good bit of the cutting and stamping ahead of time. We will basically be assembling the projects while sharing fun and laughter. * Use 24 small bags or envelopes and put one kit in each. * Be sure to print 24 copies of your instructions... one for each gal, not just one for your table * You do not need to provide tape and glue for your project.... each swapper should bring her own.
Your kits...
* 24 kits (23 for us gals to make + 1 in case there are any mistakes) * any necessary "stuff" to create your project + 1 completed item so we can see what were making + 1 completed item to enter in the Vote for Best Project
Also bring... * Your own tape, glue, pop-dots, scissors, pen, pencils et cetera. In other words, a small tool kit to carry with you from project to project. * Check the link to Operation Write Home. If you bring cards (blank inside) we will mail them.
Sack Lunch... This works well and no leftovers!
Name Tag... Create your own name tag. Make it a piece of artwork that you can be proud to wear. (and I'll try to remember mine)
Janitors request... No loose glitter. No embossing powder. Those things get in the carpet and stay for months. Stickles are fine. Watercolors and chalk are great.
Hi Garnet, thanks for posting this. Please sign me, Sandy Hels, and Kim up for the swap!
Thanks, Karen
Do they have Splitcoast names? I might be able to backtrack, but it's so much easier if I get all the info.
Also, it would be better if they subscribe to this thread. Then they will get all the updates.
Oh, yay! Please add thyme to your list and my friend Julia Wright. She will message you with her SC name. Many thanks! Love this stamping tradition. Mary Ellen
Hi Garnet! Can you please add us to the list...
Debbie Resch ~ purple7
Julie Haugen ~ Julie Haugen
Kristi Swingle ~ Kristi Swingle

I don't anticipate being in the UK at the end of September so please sign me up! I'll see if my cousin's daughter (my upline)and another friend or two want to come. The time has gone so quickly, can't believe it's July already!
In the UK right now waiting to celebrate my GS's 7th birthday and also waiting to meet his newly adopted little brother next week before we come home.
Does anyone know how to contact Laurie... laulief??? When I posted info awhile back on the old thread, she said she wanted to attend. But now I can't get in touch with her. Old thread says it is "closed." PM says "laulief is not accepting messages."
Garnet, I just realized that I will not be able to attend, I get back from a trip out of town that day, I'm soo disappointed I will miss all the fun.

Is there a gallery of pictures from past swaps? I would love to see what was done before so I have an idea of what to do for this one.
There is not. I tried that several years ago and ended up with albums in very odd places. Just flip through the current galleries and if you see something you like, go for it.
The biggest percentage are cards. Sometimes there are little baskets or tree ornaments.

Garnet, sorry....I haven't checked splitcoast for the longest time....yes, if there is still room for me, I'm in! I'll also let you know in facebook...I'll print the instructions and everything that goes with it! Can't wait!

Just remembered something. Put your name on your project somewhere... on your shoebox, on your instructions, whatever. This is for the other gals to know who to yell at.... no let me rephrase that.... to know who to ask if they need help.
