SEPTEMBER 2013 Mission-CARDS FOR A CAUSE
2013 Cards for A Cause SEPTEMBER MISSION Stamp from the Heart!
ORGANIZATION BEING FEATURED: SEND LOVE TODAY
Description of Organization: Linda Thomas and Sandi Mueller formed the idea for Send Love Today (SLT) after the tragic death of Lindas husband, Stacy L. Thomas (SLT). Stacy fought brain cancer for two and a half years before it took his life in January 2004. Throughout his illness, Sandi and other family members sent cards to Stacy as a form of love and encouragement. Stacy began to look forward to receiving these cards, and they became the bright spots in his otherwise pain-filled life. When Stacy passed away, it became extremely important to Linda to make something positive come out of this tragedy. Thus, Linda and Sandi developed the idea for Send Love Today, which is a volunteer-based program meant to bring some amount of joy to brain tumor patients in the form of homemade cards and small gifts.Link To Send Love Today website

I'll get some cards started tomorrow for this great cause. I just fnished a fun virtual card making party for Labor Day weekend with Operation Write Home and have lots of good ideas for cards. Now I have a ton of extras from spare cuts and embellishments that will get put to good use!

Are there any restrictions about glitter, etc? I use it often so can't ever guarantee there aren't sparklies on my cards! ;) Also...do you want the inside left blank or a sentiment stamped in it?

One of many cards I've made so far for this month's Cards for a Cause. This one uses faux enamel dots made from a Viva Pearl Pen. I've never posted any pictures here before and hope this comes through. Just in case it doesn't, here's the link:

Mailed 18 cards with envies this AM. I am really enjoying making cards for all the wonderful causes. In the process of renovating the kitchen so will be busy with that so got them out early this month.
I finally finished making cards and packing them up, all 148 of them! They'll go out on Saturday. This was fun! The weird thing is my stash doesn't look a bit smaller. I'm convinced my paper has babies in the middle of the night and just keeps reproducing! LOL!

Thank you for the compliments. I really enjoy making cards, especially for a cause! Lately it has been the only thing I can do after work because I am going through a horrible fatigue flareup (probably from my fibromyalgia) and I can barely stay awake or even carry on a conversation. Anyway, thank YOU for coordinating all of this and giving me something to work on that helps me stay awake and semi-alert until bedtime!

hi and welcome, please feel free to chat and ask whatever you want...we are friendly here! We do not have a keyword for Cards For A Cause, you are always welcome to share your link here so we can comment and gaze over your creations! If you play along with the OPTIONAL challenge you use the keyword posted in the first post...this month it is C4AC8 and the challenge is to use gemstones, sequins, or enamel dots. I hope I answered your question, let me know if it is not clear.
thanks so much for joining us!
