I didn't see where they were requesting that no cards be sent to her. In his 9/4/2013 post her husband indicated that if someone wanted to send her cards, to send them to the SU home office and they would see that she received them. Have you read something different elsewhere? I would hate to go against their wishes.
He did generously indicate in that same post that someone had suggested
instead of sending a card to Shelli, you could send a card to someone in your life who may be in special need such as elderly or military. That gesture seems so typical of the Gardners.
