I saw a video by Karen Burnisten on Pop N Cut dies which she designed. I would like to know if I buy a base card kit she designed can I then use any of the Sizzex dies to use as pop ups inside the card? I know she showed several dies that she's designed for the card base but Sizzix offers many more words and shapes that could perhaps be used. Or does Sizzix offer an alternate card base? I love the idea. Thanks ahead of time for your in put.
If I'm reading this question right your want to know if you can use ANY other Sizzix die in the base tray to make a pop up card. (??)
I think the answer is no. You would need a Pop n Cuts Insert to create a 3D element for the inside of your card. There are several different designs of the inserts. The inserts have the neccessary folds and cuts in the die to make the 'pop'.
You can use your other Sizzix die cuts to embellish your Pop n Cuts.
I just bought my base set which comes with an insert. It's a great idea and I'm sure I'll get a lot of use from it. Now I need to decide which other insert I'd like to try next.
I am thinking that there are two different base plates out there. One has the decorative corners thr other is a normal square corner. Can anyone confirm this?
Blessings
Stampin Up has their own design for a pop n cuts base which has decorative corners and slots. The base I have is can be purchased from other vendors and it has the rounded corners.
There is also a square PnC base with a decorative edge and flourish but I'm confused about how you would use this with the PnC inserts since I can't see an open base in the die.
I found what I needed to know on Karens Blog. The square card base does have an opening for the inserts. That makes so much sense to me. So to sum up...
Sizzix has a rounded corner retangle card base which comes with an insert included AND a decorative edge square card base with no inserts included.
Sizzix for SU! has a decorative corner and slot retangle base.
