I am new to using the Memory Box die cuts and some other brands. I love it though. However, I am having difficulty applying adhesive to the thin designs. Like for instance yesterday when I used the bike die cut there was very little space for adhesive. I tried applying some glue, but it wound up getting it all over my card as the die cut moved around. Any suggestions will help and be appreciated. Thank you. Mary
The best way I have found for me is to run the paper through the appropriate width Xyron machine before it die cut the image-burnish remove the clear cellophane then stick the image where you want it.
This is the best way for me to adhere the delicate and/or detailed die cut. The glue pen or bottled glue just do don't work for me. I know some people complain that this method is expensive but for me this is the only way I have found to stick the cut image in place.
Have used this method on Memory box, Marianne Designs, etc. Also, use this method on tiny images ie the tiny bird or bats by Memory Box.
I just tap my Zig glue marker in random places on the die cut, or I use a dot adhesive runner. The dots will stick only to the die cut, and not to the surface it's on. I often find that the more delicate pieces get twisted and folded when I run them through my Xyron.
I have the same problem too sometimes, but I find the easiest method for me is to place little dots on the back of the diecut with my Zig pen in a few strategic places, then (and this is the important part) HOLD it in place on the card and COUNT TO 10. I tend to be impatient about things like letting glue or ink dry, so I have to make myself count for a while to avoid sabotaging my work!
I use the Sakura Quickie Glue pen. The nib is nice and fine and I just outline the outside of the die-cut and maybe a couple of points in the inside. Haven't had any fall off yet.
The tweezers she uses are awesome....Ellen Hutson has them in her online store. :cool:
What a great video...I love all the stuff she used..now I need to go shopping to try some of these adhesives (and those dies are really cool..I need more Memory Box!!).Thanks for the link!
