Default Spectrum Marker sale

I just have to share. I have been wanting a set of markers for a long time, very long time ;) But, the price has kept me from buying. I have been using the Prismacolor pencils for years and love them! After reading so many reviews here about Copics and Spectrum Noir, I have finally purchased a set of SN. I got a great deal at Dick Blicks. They are on sale 25% off plus I used a coupon code for 35% off!!!! I am thrilled! I can't wait to get them ;)

Congrats Robin. I bought mine at DickBlick.com too for about the same price...I'm fairly certain they have the best deal when you hit the sale right. Plus they have fast shipping...which I wish other companies would take note of!

Your right Annie. I was actually surprised that after the 25% off sale price, I was able to use the extra 35% coupon code. Most places won't let you do that.

Is this the 24 pack or the 6 pack. I had gotten all of my 6 packs at ACMoore's for about $7.88. Now I would like to get the 24 packs too. Never heard of DickBlick.com. Will have to check it out.

Where can I find the 35% off Dick Blick coupon code? I'd like to pick up the last 2 sets of 24 that I need.

It's at the top of their web page.

I got the 6 packs for $5.82. I have been watching eBay and could not get them new at this price. I have wanted markers for a long time. I could not pass this up so, I have tons of markers on the way ;) I can't wait to get them! I hope can make cards as beautiful as everyone else here when I learn how...

I did manage to get the entire marker set, but then the reinkers are hard to find on sale. Joann's had them 40% off if they were in stock by the time your order was processed. Still, the Spectrum Noir markers are more affordable per marker than Copic.

Yeah, I got them all from that Dick Blick sale, too. I also picked up a set of Sakura pigment ink pens in varying widths of black, as I don't think I have a writing tool that I know for sure won't react with the alcohol ink. I was doing some math regarding the re-inkers, and I think I am going to wait until I have a better idea of which markers I will use the most and then buy them in order of use. From everything I have read, there are always going to be some markers that are rarely used. I will get a pack of nibs now. They're relatively cheap. What I will do as soon as they arrive is test them all, especially since I am moving to Canada next month. Blick has a good return policy - just contact them if you have a problem.

I have a 15 year old stepdaughter that is starting at her local fine arts high school in the fall and she draws and illustrates. Alcohol ink markers are something she has wanted to try, but have been out of her pet shop job price range until now. (Even the ShinHans are astronomically priced in Canada.) I am going to offer to let her use these freely with the provision that she assist me with the purchase of refill ink. (I don't need to say anything about taking care of them - her art supplies are her "precious", LOL.) We will figure out which markers we are using the most and make our first re-inker order accordingly. Thank heavens Joann's ships to Canada these days. As she progresses with her art, I know she will need more "professional quality" markers, but I hope this will get us both going.

I didn't realize JoAnn's carries the refills too.

And even better, they periodically put the refills on sale.

So I received the markers from Dick Blick today. I purchased the complete set; twelve packs of 6 each and four packs of 24 each. Definitely test your markers. I printed out a blank color chart and just colored it in. I had 8 dried out markers from five different 6 packs. Having read a lot of reviews of these markers, I was kind of expecting some. I've emailed Blick's customer service to see how they want to handle this. Their return policy has a good reputation, so I'm not particularly worried. If by some chance I have a problem with Blick, I'll contact Crafter's Companion.

It definitely seemed to me that the markers from the 24 packs were "juicier" than the markers from the 6 packs. Perhaps the 6 packs are older or from a different production run, who knows. All in all, I like them. They'll serve my crafty purposes just fine and they'll give my stepdaughter an introduction into the world of alcohol ink markers. I'm sure if she progresses with art illustration, she'll eventually need to move to Copics. For now, I think this will be good.

I just saw this post. I have these makers and love them. I really want the 24 packs. I can get them on DickBlick for $127 free ship. I still feel this is a good price. Am I right? Also going thru mrrebates.com gives me 3% back.

Yeah, it's a great price. I would go for it. Just test your markers when they arrive.

BTW, Blick wrote me back. They are sending me free of charge 5 new packs (6 in each pack) of the markers that had dry markers in them. They told me I could do whatever I wanted with the rest of the 5 packs that were not dry. Very easy and they were totally nice about it.
