Heart Need ideas for preserving an OLD scrapbook

Hi!
I have a very old scrapbook (my Dad did it while he was in college) that's falling apart. Its an old 12x15, he has stuff glued to and has hand writing on both sides of the pages.
He was killed in an auto accident before I turned a year old so, I want to preserve as much as the original album pages as I can. A friend of mine gave me a 12x15 Creative Memories album with pages & protectors, but I'm still struggling to figure out how to keep the original pages in the protectors (they open on both the top & bottom) and I need a way to adhere them in the album. (I hope that made sense??)
Ideas??? Suggestions???

What a precious memory to have! Sounds like you need a top loading album instead of one that's open top and bottom. Maybe you can just get top loading page protectors for the album you have.

Do you have a picture of an example page?

Yes, I am very thankful he did it and its (kinda) what got me started in scrapbooking years ago! The page protectors are open on each side and slide over the hinge page. The book is in really bad shape, but the pages (except the pictures are falling off) are in pretty decent shape. I will try to
up load a couple of photos.

I uploaded three pictures in my gallery. You can see the book is in really bad shape.
I'll have to research top loading 12x15 page protectors...Thanks

I'm not sure exactly if this is what you want, I am not familiar with CM products. But you might try to undo the binding. You might be able to easily razor cut each page to the size that can slip inside the page protectors you have.

There also are businesses on Etsy that will design a new book cover/binding for you. I'm not sure if I would be comfortable sending a scrapbook away to someone, but that's an option.

Thanks Ladies for your help! I've decided to get some strap hinge top loading page protectors (I found online at JoAnn's). I appreciate your ideas!
