It's my turn to host the TLC today and we are doing a color challenge of sorts! Way back in 2006, our TLC Hostess, Beth, challenged us to make holiday cards using non-traditional holiday colors in TLC86, called Twisted Traditions. We are taking a twist on that, with "Twisted Traditions 2" -- and ***using traditional holiday colors to make non-holiday cards.***
Examples:
1. Make a red, white, and blue card that is not patriotic. (Happy Independence Day this week, America!)
2. Make a red and green card that is not Christmas related.
3. Make a green and gold card that is not St. Patrick's Day.
4. Make a red, pink, and white card that is not Valentine's Day.
5. Make an orange and black card that is not Halloween related, as in my sample below.
Make sense?
I use the word "card" loosely -- you can, of course, make any kind of project you like - it doesn't have to be a card. But it does have to follow the Twisted Traditions 2 challenge and use "traditional holiday colors" for non-holiday cards. I know there are many colors used for Christmas now, and Halloween also now adds in purple and green, but let's stick with the old-style traditional colors for this! Neutrals, are of course, fine to add as well (black, gray, white, ivory, kraft).
I have attached some other samples in that were in my gallery previously that follow the challenge for inspiration. Please upload only new creations for this challenge!
I based my card on the traditional colors of St.Patrick's Day- gold and green- and used CTMH's Hello There set for my sentiment and images. Added a tan dc branch, and twine, and a green and white dc flower. Here's You Make Me Smile

So much fun...loved this challenge! My girlfriend has a 4th of July birthday and I always make up a red/white/blue card for her. As a bonus, I also used a flower set in a non-traditional way!
Judy, this was a fun challenge, but a challenge to be sure. Here's my card. Thanks for continuing to stretch us as artists.

Judy- great challenge, thanks! I used SU's Nature's Seasonal Borders and Around the Block sets for my card, using Christmas colors for a non-Christmas card. Here's Genuine Green- and Red

I'm late to the party, but couldn't resist your fun challenge.
Here's my Precious Baby Girl using the colors of Valentine's Day and Stencil Sympathy using the colors of St. Patrick's Day.
