YAY - I love IOWA Shoeboxes and that date is open on my calendar! How many are you looking to have - I see only 7 spaces but if my friends decide to do a road trip with me, there are probably at least 8 of us!
Was it a scrapbook one or a regular cruise thought you were talking about another scrapping cruise
We were talking about looking for another stamping/scrapbooking cruise, but this one came up first. It was set up by the travel group at the local bank. I loved Alaska so much, I'm not sure I ever want to go back to the Caribbean. So much more to see in Alaska & the temperatures are so much better. Martha & I talked about looking for a cruise up the east coast to see the fall foliage in a couple of years. I can't afford to do it every year.
I want to do Alaska there is supposed to be a stamping Alaska cruise coming up but no dates yet. I hear Alaska is a wonderful place to see Sounds like you guys have fun!
Alaska is beautiful--I have some absolutely gorgeous pictures, as well as some great memories. It was lots of fun this time around to not have to be in classes because I wanted to be on the balcony watching the scenery all of the time. There is so much more to see and do in Alaska than the Caribbean.
Keep me in mind for the next swap. Hopefully I won't be out of town for it. Also my email has changed from before (switched providers). It is dselse315 at gmail dot com.
Diane got your registration and check thanks so much are there more of your friends coming with you?
Sherry, they all were interested but when it actually came to registering, I haven't heard from anyone saying they are going! I went ahead and sent mine because I don't want to miss an awesome event with my Iowa friends!
I'm thinking of booking a B&B for Friday & Saturday nights in Savanna, IL - it looks like about a 30-minute drive to Camanche - it's called Granny O'Neil's River Inn. Has anyone, by chance, heard of this place or been there?
Glad to hear you are coming I am not familiar with that B&B but you are probably a little more than 30 minutes away. I live in Fulton,IL and it takes me 20-25 minutes to get to the church and Savannah is down the road another 15-20 minutes depending on where in Savannah the B&B is
Hopefully some more of your group will join us Can't wait to meet you
Come on where are the rest of our card makers? Please get your registration forms and $15 in to me ASAP we have paid the rental on the church, bought cool door prizes and ordered most of the food all out of what has been paid so far and our own pockets. Have not heard back from 10 or so people who usually make this swap...Am curious what is going on.
I'm the ring leader of the Geneseo group and I will be on a work trip that weekend. Most of the others had other committments as well. Hopefully we can make the next one.
Thank you to my Port Byron group and Linda for getting their info and money to me...
Pat had a cool idea since we look to be only 12-13 people what would you think to making 2 different cards that way we can still come back with 20 plus cards....let me know if you are opposed to this or if you have a bunch more people who want to to come.
I'd be cool with making 2 different cards - we've been having lower attendance here in Wisconsin at a lot of stamping events so we've done two cards at several of them. Today was our 5th Annual Hartford Shoebox, check out our cards on my Facebook page. We do optional swaps, too - notebooks, 6" x 6" recipe cards, jars, anything but a card and secret sister, too! We had 15 particpants today and stamped from 10am - 3pm with about a 30 minute break for lunch. I'm really looking forward to the Eastern Iowa Shoebox!
Thanks for the quick response glad you are on board with 2 cards. Also interesting to hear your attendance is down this is the first swap we have given with such low numbers usually we fill up rapidly I was reall
y surprised. Can't wait to meet you!
Hi Sherry,
Thanks for the call, I had totally forgotten about this with the hustle and bustle of school starting and the fairs. My money and form are in the envelope. I will mail tomorrow.
Okay it looks like there are 15 of us. We have decided to go with 2 cards each The second card should take 10 minutes or less. Either make it simply or do more prep work on it. Can't wait to see all you ladies in 2 weeks
YAY - only 2 more weeks - can't wait to meet everyone! I'm doing my second one as a little project, I'm pretty sure you'll all like it - I'll do some pre-work so it doesn't take as long as it would from scratch! I think I've decided to camp instead of the B&B I was looking at - seems that I never have enough time to enjoy nature as much as I'd like to (do wish I knew the weather predictions for two weeks out, though)! Time to get busy in the craft room!
Wow lucky for you the weather is going to break so it will be comfortable while you camp...it was 104 with Heat index yesterday and close to that today
Thanks, Sherry for a wonderful Shoebox event! I'm looking forward to many more opportunities to craft with you ladies (IA, IL, MN, WI . . . AK . . .?? anywhere!)
It was a wonderful swap And it was great to remeet you. We had such creative card designers and got to take home so many new ideas. Thanks to everyone who participated.
