Default 3x3 Template

Hi,

A friend of mine is a florist. I make cards, so I've asked if she's willing to sell my cards along with her flowers. And she agreed. But here's the issue:She's asking me for 3x3 cards (or around that size)
- I can't seem to figure out the best way to use a 8.5x11" sheet to make 3x3's. I seem to be wasting a lot of paper.

Secondly, have you come across any design ideas for 3x3 cards? They sound awfully small for any design or stamp I have

Help!

First, I did a search on Google images for gift enclosure cards. There are quite a few ideas there. Here is the link:

https://www.google.com/search?um=1&h...mg.S2g4P-_krgA

Next I just sketched out a 8-1/2 x 11 sheet. If you make your cards 2-3/4 x 2-3/4, and cut them like my sketch, you can get 6 of them from a sheet of 8-1/2 x 11. The solid lines on my sketch are to cut, and the dotted lines are to fold.

This will leave 1/4" left over on the 8-1/2 width.

PS click on the thumbnail sketch to make it larger.

I wonder if it would be easier to make them from a 12x12 sheet? I'm terrible with math, so that is the way I would go... I think you can get 8 3x3 cards from a 12x12 sheet with no waste.

I did a Google search for 3x3 cards, and lots of images came up:
https://www.google.com/search?q=3x3+...=1855&bih=1081

If you are on Pinterest, you could search there for ideas, too...

Good luck! I would love to see what you come up with!

3x3's can be very easy to work up. It's simply a smaller working palette. ;)
You should be able to get 3 cards from an 8.5 X 11" cardstock sheet when cutting the cards 3" X 6".

Check our gallery by searching with the keyword: 3x3

Hopefully that will inspire you in your own endeavors for the florist shop. ;)

Yes, we were, Laura. I tried and tried to do google search images for 3 x 3 cards, and it just wouldn't work for me, so that's why I tried gift enclosures. Crazy computers....

I hardly ever use 12 x 12 actual cardstock anymore. I have patterned paper in that size, but all my solid cardstock is 8-1/2 x 11. That's because I'm always looking for bargains, and they have it on sale in packs at Mikes and Joann's a lot. The 12 x 12 not so much.

Do you need to put them in envelopes? I always size my "3x3s" to fit in the envelopes I have, they are probably more like 2 7/8" square. Even if you use 8.5 x 11 paper, there is NEVER waste! Use those strips to punch out sentiments, or cut smaller squares to fit inside of a dark colored card for customers to write on. Have fun!

Forgot to mention that if you enter 3x3 in the search box on the main page of the gallery, you will get lots of ideas!
