Money Saver Free Envelopes

If you are out shopping today, don't forget to check your store's greeting card department to see if the company's representative is pulling envelopes. They just toss these away....so usually if you ask for them, they will give them to you. Being right after Mother's Day there should be a lot of pretty pastel envelopes along with your standard cream and white envelopes. I hope you find your area's greeting card rep and come home with lots and lots of pretty, free envelopes!

I used to work next door to a store that sold greeting cards. I still have envelopes from there. Season change is great!

Yes, this is a great way to stock up on free envelopes. If you happen to be shopping the day after a holiday, swing by the greeting card section to see if the company's representative is pulling envelopes. I have found that the greeting card reps are usually happy to give the envelopes away...perhaps they realize what a wasteful thing it is to just trash perfectly good envelopes.

After Mother's Day and Easter you will get a lot of pastel and pink envelopes and orange and brown ones are abundant after Halloween and Thanksgiving. The best color variety is after Christmas when you will get red, green, gold and silver envelopes along with the traditional ivory and white ones.

Of course these envelopes are great for your handmade cards, but you can also use them for making envelope books, and for storing fussy cuts and other small embellishments.

I can tell you that the Hallmark reps at Walgreens pull the envies and unless someone has asked for them, they throw them away....so save a tree and ask for them!!!

I know manager at local Rite Aid, I'm going to ask her if I can have the envelopes.

Great tip! I had no idea. Why do they do that? Can't they keep the envies with the cards they pull??
