Yes, this is a great way to stock up on free envelopes. If you happen to be shopping the day after a holiday, swing by the greeting card section to see if the company's representative is pulling envelopes. I have found that the greeting card reps are usually happy to give the envelopes away...perhaps they realize what a wasteful thing it is to just trash perfectly good envelopes.
After Mother's Day and Easter you will get a lot of pastel and pink envelopes and orange and brown ones are abundant after Halloween and Thanksgiving. The best color variety is after Christmas when you will get red, green, gold and silver envelopes along with the traditional ivory and white ones.
Of course these envelopes are great for your handmade cards, but you can also use them for making envelope books, and for storing fussy cuts and other small embellishments.
