JUN13VSNMINI5 ~ Friday, May 3 ~ 9:00pm EST *BEAT THE HEAT*
TITLE:Beat the Heat! HOSTESS: Tammie (Tammie E) KEYWORD:JUN13VSNMINI5 DAY/DATE: Friday, May 3 TIME: 9:00pm EST
When I was a kid, one of my favorite things to do to cool down on a hot, summer day was to lay out the yellow Slip-N-Slide and hook it up to the garden hose. The neighborhood kids would all come over to take a turn...sliding across it while arches of cold water splashed over us...squeals of delight and laughter rang out through the neighborhood. Good times!
As I age (I like to think of it as getting smarter)...I realize that I cannot run full speed ahead and hurdle my body to the ground and expect to get up without aches and pains (if I could even get up at all!). Now I just look for new, pain free ways to beat the heat!
Sooo...my challenge to you is to create a project that showcases your favorite way to BEAT THE HEAT! Do you like to go to the beach, the lake, camping, indulge in your favorite beverage, crank the air conditioning or maybe even take a drive with the top down (the car...not yours! )? Whatever it is...I want to see it! I'm looking forward to seeing your projects!
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON May 6th. 2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge. 3. We have a special gallery for the Dog Days of Summer VSN. When you click on Member Galleries to access the drop-down list, either scroll to the very bottom of the list (or just hit the End key which will take you straight there), and upload to that gallery . 4. Please remember to put in the correct keyword JUN13VSNMINI5when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure your layout is seen. THANKS SO MUCH FOR PLAYING ALONG!!!
It went super fast! I still have one more card to make and then I'll be done with the mini. Looking forward to the main VSN! Thanks for the sample, Ann...you rocked the challenge!
I was just driving home from picking up my kids and trying to think what stamp I could use for this challenge and thought the same thing...wish I had an A/C stamp....this girl does not do "outside" with high 90's and humidity which we experience May - Sept.
I don't do well with the heat either...I MELT! Well, maybe not...but I do get a little whiny! Ha!

House mouse makes an Fan stamp with three little mice blowing in the breeze off of it... ( but its HUGE) and takes me over an hour to color...
I have absolutely NOTHING colored for anyone's challenges tonight. (dinner's cooking here) but, I am thinking I may color some things in case I can steal some time to play tomorrow.
I know this feels kinda strange to not have it all planned out in advance. but, its ok. we have to go up to OHSU this weekend so, it would not have given me much time to leave love in the galleries either. even if I take a laptop with us we will spend so much time driving.

I finally made it to the seaside.
You understand this is not an Irish beach. One gets cold there, alright, but you're not exactly starting off from the point of being hot .
Made a change for me not to stamp my own beach scene! And I tell ya, I was pretty tempted to make a card with the stamp in my avatar, but I was combining  with an offsite challenge.
I am so kicking myself!
I forgot I wanted to make one of these cards for this challenge:Cup Card Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
Hopefully there'll be something in the Main that I can tie it in to.
This was a fun one and I had to think outside of the box a bit, since I don't live anywhere near a beach and I didn't have any pool stamps (okay, time to go shopping!).
