Less than 20 hours! Yay! I got a "reprieve" and don't have to work tomorrow so I'll be able to get a good start on the month. I'll clean my worktable off today.
This will be my third year at participating in the HYCCT challenge. Although the prizes are wonderful, the joy of making something special for someone who needs uplifting is the greatest reward. Those new to the challenge will not regret it.
Can't wait, I have a question can I upload my pictures at the end of each week, I will be out of cell service for a week so I won't be able to upload my cards once they are done.

Sure! The upload deadline for all the challenges is November 7th at noon.
Anyone want to know the number to beat for this year's gallery?

I love this challenge. I played for the first time last year and I had a blast. I am going on vacation on the 24th of October and will not return until November 3rd, but I am going to try to do as many of the challenges as I can, and maybe if I'm not too beat from walking a million miles at Disney World with my DGD, I can catch up on the ones I miss and get them posted by the November 7th deadline. It is now 9PM CST in the USA on September 30th.................let the countdown begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One more sleep before the fun begins! This year is even more meaningful for me as my husband is recovering from a massive cancer surgery. I was able to finish all the challenges in the past - not sure I can pull that off this year, but I know I'll have fun trying! I've missed SCS this year - feels good to be back! Hello to all my old HYCCT friends and I look forward to getting make many new friends this month.
Here's hoping we can beat that 3500. I plan to do my part. Can't wait until tomorrow. Hope it is posted early as I go up and pray on Tuesday mornings at my church before I go to work, which means I will not be around at 8 AM.

I hope your husband is doing ok! Let us know if he needs some happy mail too!
My friend gave me some pink ribbon paper for Christmas last year so I'm ready to go for this month (ok, the pink ribbon paper is the only thing that's ready, the rest of the room is a mess and my calendar is full, but I'm going to try anyway!).

I was only able to make a few cards last year but I'm determined to make more this year. My M & D are both cancer survivors, however, many relatives and friends throughout the years did not make it. The cards I make are tributes to each one of them ... their determination, courage and fight. Looking forward to the challenges which begin later today.
I think that cancer - of one kind or another - has touched pretty much every person in the known world in some way, whether it's friends, family, or themselves. I think one of the reasons this event is so special is that it allows us to DO something in the face of an event that otherwise renders us somewhat helpless... I'm SO pumped to be able to participate this year!!!

I knew I forgot something! Give me 90 milliseconds!!
And, we're off. It's not even 9:00 am here in CA but I see that my fellow stampers from all over the US have been busy. So exciting. Can't wait to see what everyone creates. I hope we smash the old record. I will really do my best to contribute to that.
New to card making, new to this board and the challenge! I am a breast cancer myself so I love this. However, I don't know how to upload my card to the right gallery. Help?
A friend died a few months ago from breast cancer, and she always loved my cards, so I really hope that I can find somewhere to live and be able to get on with these challenges! I'm pretty sure I have plenty of pink stuff in my crafting collection! ;)

Welcome! You've come to an incredible place for fun, fellowship, and inspiration! And congratulations on being a survivor!
When you click on the "Upload a Card" link on the left side of this screen, you'll be taken to another page where you'll see the step-by-step directions for uploading. On #1 where it has the drop down menu labeled "Select a main gallery", you'll want to scroll down the menu a bit and choose "Events & Special Collections". That will activate the drop down menu on the right so you can choose "Hope You Can Cling To challenge galleries". That will open a up a third drop down menu so you can choose the one for 2013.
Hope this helps. Feel welcome to ask any other questions you might have!
Hoping to participate and thanks for explaining how we upload a card to the gallery! What a great cause and motivation to craft! I had a lumpectomy this past year that turned out to be benign...and have had friends and family who have battled breast cancer so this is something meaningful to me.
This year I don't have as much time as last year. I'll be away for about 6 days so I may not get them all done but I'll do what I can. And in the end I had so much fun just yakking with everyone after the challenges closed that I don't care if I get them all done this year. that was my goal last year and I did it. This year the goal is to just have fun and do as much as possible.
