Gayle, If I weren't so lazy, I'd get out my map and see where you live in Utah. I have only been to St. George and the nearby area on a bus trip from Keller, TX. I have friends there, but there is only a slim chance that I'll ever make it back. Knowing where people live and knowing who is friends with whom helps us know each other a little better. People do move a lot, but I've been in the Fort Worth area for 39 years!

What a fun month! I feel like something is missing now... no box of cards under my desk, no early morning forum check-ins. Time to look ahead to DTGD now!!!

Finally finished the last of my cards tonight! So glad to be able to do this for others. I made, I think, 39 cards in all. I sent two-thirds of them a couple weeks ago, along with a dozen or so from my stash. The rest should go in the mail by Thursday.

One of the great things about this event is that it is a great jump-start for my creativity as I kick the holiday crafting into high gear. Thanks to the challenges, I have Thanksgiving and Christmas card designs now!

Me too!! I'm hoping that I can unearth some more spatter mesh and recreate my glittery Christmas card for my own stash. I've got a whole pack of the glitter sheets.

Wow - well done, Connie.
I've made fewer than any other year. But since I actually thought it was unlikely I'd even get all the challenges done, let alone end up with any extras, I'm pretty happy with that.

And this morning, when I lifted the shoebox up to add envelopes and clear pockets to the last half-dozen cards ....I found the missing card front I've been looking for all over the place for the last few days, stuck to the bottom of the box. Yay!! I was about to start that one from scratch today.

The postal employee was so thrilled I hadn't taped my package shut cause she got to see some of the cards!

Mine should arrive in TX on Friday...priority mail is faster by 2 days than regular postage...

My schedule for today (just back from library and post office) is to catch up with Monday's TLC, and today's sketch. I'm going to use a snowman for that so I'll add him in to the VSN Mini just for fun .
Oh - there might be some vacuuming in there too. DH had a migraine on Monday when I was doing the housework, so I just swept the floors to keep it quiet.

I stuffed my cards in two flat rate priority envys and used soo much clear wide tape on them that the post office girl was laughing at me...it would not stay shut at the top so I kept adding more and more clear tape...Soo happy to mail 100 cards and hope they enjoy the xmas cards I sent also~Thanks again to everyone for all the hard work that is put into these challenges and thanks to all the ladies for some really awesome cards heading to Texas~

Good morning ladies.....congratulations to everyone who participated in the HYCCT, to me everyone is winner if they made 1 card or lots of cards. I think now I could start going to bed at a reasonable hour instead at 1, 2 or 3:00 in the morning on work nights. (lol)

Now I have to time to check cards in the gallery & give some lovin'

Hugs to everyone!

WHEW!! Stick a fork in me, stampers, I am done! I completed all of my cards without once running out to buy something new to use. I dug through existing stuff (I have waaaaaaay too much) and used things I forgot I had, finished up kits from old SBS, tried new techniques (subway art and the mixed media really freaked me out for some reason) and generally had a grand old time doing HYCCT for the first time. Many thanks to all of the hostesses for their fantastic ideas. So far, I have about 60 cards to send and want to take one more stroll through my pile of completed cards to see if there are anymore I can send. Now I am off to compose my list for the "Queen" thread.

So happy for people who're finishing & getting packages mailed! I need to get my 2nd batch in clear envies so I can mail them. Unfortunately I found weevils in my pantry so now I'm dealing with a full out cleaning project! Ugh-definitely not fun. Trying to remind myself that I'm blessed to have food, kitchen, etc but it is a lot to deal with...large families make for large amounts of food.

Had my hubby take my package to be shipped out. It should be there probably tomorrow if not the next day as I sent it priority and it's Houston, TX.

Woohoo!! I just uploaded my last challenge and posted my links in the Queens thread. Now I need to clean up my stamping room and then do some laundry and go to the grocery!

This was my first time doing the HYCCT challenges, and I just wanted to say thanks to all the hostesses and anyone else behind the scenes at SCS who organizes this event. I had a blast doing these cards, and for some reason, the challenges really sparked my mojo. I used all kinds of stamps and supplies that have never been used and tried some techniques that I have never tried. It was a great month and I thoroughly enjoyed myself -- although I think my family is feeling a little neglected! Now I need to get all the cards packed up and mailed.

So sorry about that Gail. I have been through it in the past and did not enjoy messing with it, doing all that cleaning, or throwing out all that otherwise good food. I threw out everything in paper packaging even if it was still sealed. Only canned goods survived.

I did take a photo of all my cards before packing them for mailing. I just did 36, but was worried at the beginning of the month whether I would be able to do that much, so I'm happy.

Since my freezer is cleaned out, I put some items into the freezer & will save those but I dumped everything that was open. I have a ways to go yet as I store stuff in my laundry room as well. I am pretty sure that's where the issue began.

Weevils - eek. I think I've only seen them once, in cornmeal. Now I keep that frozen because I don't use it very often.

Mary Ann - I'm so glad you enjoyed all the challenges and got really inspired by them. I love that about this sort of event!!

Val, my daughter is moving to Dallas at the end of the month and we are helping drive there. Wish we had time to hook up and stamp! But I know that's not gonna happen. I live about 4 hours north of St. George. We love the mountains and even the snow (for a few more years at least)

I was painstakingly packaging all my cards in clear bags tonight to be sent off this saturday to Texas. It is my next day free to travel heh. I scraped in at the last days to finish up. This will be my first year to do the challenges . Hope everyone had a great time and thank you guys for hosting this big bang.

I thought the area around St. George was so beautiful. I could see myself living there! That's not gonna happen either.

Perhaps send her a message? I'm not sure whether she can edit that post? If not, perhaps she needs help from Lydia or someone.

Oh, my gosh! I just finished uploading and I really do only have one challenge left to finish!! I'd do a happy dance if I wasn't so tired. Now off to finish that last one, hopefully before 3am tonight, err tomorrow.

I am so sad this is over already. I had a pretty rough month with my health, and while I started out so full of hope, I was unable to participate in nearly as many challenges as I would have liked. But last year I was only able to do 4, and this year 13, so there is improvement. I am so grateful for this yearly challenge, and as my health allows, I plan to complete all the challenges even though it will be after the prize deadline. Thank you to all the people who are involved with this, and God bless you all.

One last note.....make sure you all come back to check the prize board! Last year I won a prize and didn't even know until this year! So don't lose out on a potential gift....check back right away!

HI Yvette!!! *waves*

Just a heads up everyone - the queens thread and the HYCCT gallery will close in a little less than two hours.

CHECK ALL YOUR CARDS BEFORE THEN - BE SURE THEY ARE IN THE HYCCT 2013 GALLERY - They will not be counted with just the keyword!

Then post in the queens thread if you're eligible before noon central!

Then you have a few days to play in our daily challenges while we get our reports together!

I think you mean a few days to play in the daily challenges while you taunt us.

Lydia, it was actually nice to "revisit" some of my cards when I did my final rechecking this morning as suggested. A big thanks to you and the other Splitcoaststamper-ettes for making this wonderful event happen
