Believe it or not!! I actually found the recipe fairly quickly. The first one is close to what you are looking for Lydia and I added the white bean dip I make to use up leftover cooked beans too....It is REALLY garlicky.....and yummy....they are in the recipe forum...

Hi Ladies just popping in...received some bad news today.
This year has meant soo much more to me with finding more and more people facing different types of cancers~ My best friend called me today to tell me her mom was just told she has pancreatic and liver cancer...my best friend was crying and that really hit home. My two good friends have breast cancer one is doing better than the other. One was just told she has stage 4 and it is in her bones my heart goes out to all...

Aw Sue, that's a real shame. Of my two friends battling breast cancer this year, one got the all-clear after a mastectomy, but the other one is in her third round with it and really all they are trying to do is stop it getting worse.

Paula - I have a short wishlist of things to get from that cookware link as soon as I have the money. Or this month anyway because what I want to get for my aunt for her 80th birthday next month are the Nomex oven gauntlets and I'll have to get enough to make the carriage worth it. But I'm not sure if any of the Dr Who stuff will make it into my basket since we have a cash-flow crisis just now for a couple of months.

So sorry to hear about your friends.
My friend who had her surgery a few weeks ago was also told she needed no further treatment after her mastectomy. This was her 2nd bout with breast cancer.
Cancer in any form just plain stinks.

Cash crisis is no fun but you are ahead of life if you realize your situation and make changes in your life!

Tonight our children (22 & almost 25) went to look at a used baby grand piano...I know nothing about pianos or music so I said to them...be wise in your decision...and the younger one said...well, Momma, we aren't going to buying tonight, you know what Dave Ramsey says...we need to sleep on it if it is over a $300 purchase!

I laughed...and said...oh yeah...you've learned something!

After processing 33 quarts of apple pie filling I'm sitting here thinking about the card I started for today...I'm sure the crystal effects is dry by now...and it wouldn't take much to go finish it so that I can say I'm ready for tomorrow!

Going to take 15-minutes of a break and see where I go after that!

Do you have a cell phone that takes photos? I used that and email it to my laptop, save it and then post. Hope that would work for you. Electronics are great only when they work!

Sorry to hear about friends and family having to deal with their news of unfavourable cancer diagnosis.

I've had some time today to work on the latest challenge and ran into my own technical challenge on how to execute my plan. Plan A is now aborted and Plan B will remain a concept for a few more hours.

Our first big storm of the season is just over the hill and about to rain down on us. I'll be happy to see our new tanks full of water. Now it is time to shut down in case we blow a fuse.

I have a dumb phone. I don't think the picture quality would be good enough. I did OK using DH's computer. He's thinking it is about time to replace this laptop that he bought for himself to use when he started seminary in 2005. It has served us well, but is slowly dying.

Well that was a fizzer. Storm blew itself out, lol.

I finished the first card I was trying to make. YAY!

I've gone back and revisited the starburst one for the eighth time since it was posted. Yes, that is eight attempts at trying to do a starburst! Todays efforts are also heading for the bin, grrr.

I just had a thought. Can I make a starburst with washi tape?

This is the youtube video that I have watched (uhm...many times more than once!) to make the starburst card...and though I don't think I "rocked" the starburst I enjoy it now...

I think I'm beginning to understand Mixed Media so maybe soon I can enjoy that also ...these challenges are getting me out of my Cuttlebug, ribbon, colored pencil only cards!

Yay! I love challenges for that. Some things I've tried a couple of times and I know they're not for me, but I've also learnt a lot of things that are now go-to techniques for me along the way. I even like sketches because they help me use up my paper, LOL.
I'm just getting ready to go over to my aunt's for the day, so I won't be around till this evening.

Thanks for the You Tube link. You have turned this frown upside down! Despite me always making a mess with fussy gluing points and edges, I picked up on something in some of the other related starburst demos on YT. EMBOSSING!!! I salvaged one of the panels I made and embossed the inconsistencies out of it. Now I'm looking at something I'm happy to pass on.

You've made my day!

I've done a sunburst with Washi before. My only issue with doing it that way was that the Washi didn't like to stick to the other Washi quite as well as I'd have liked (but I was using a post it note tape so that makes more sense) and it got a little bulky around the edges as I folded them over instead of trimming.
Well, no stamping for me this morning....taking youngest DD to get a throat swab. Lots of strep going around and though her fever is down today, her throat looks worse.
I'll take a sketchbook and let ideas simmer while I'm out and about. Will have to grab some groceries too as I didn't get a shopping trip in last week since I went to Chicago. My poor family is scrounging around for food and I've not cooked a real meal since I got back
About the only good thing in all the stress that is going on related to issues at our church (DH is a pastor) is that I've lost about 5lb through the process.

Oh hugs, Gail! Thinking of you! Prayers DD is strep-free and that the church drama is resolved peacefully soon. My parents went through it several times...no fun. Take care of yourself, though!

Looking forward to your finished product...I've spent too much time on YT watching stamping related videos but I have only bookmarked 4...usually it is StampTV where I spend my time rewatching Gina's style of explaining techniques...

I don't have an excuse but I feel like I haven't cooked a real meal this month either...

Best figure something out for the crockpot...that usually helps me...could there be some meat pieces in the freezer so I could make stew?

It was strep....I was sure it was after I looked at her throat this morning. When the dr. says "Ew!" when she looks at your kid's throat, you know you made the right decision to take them in.
I think we're on the upward side of the issues at church. Now it is a matter of healing and recovering. There are some people that did or said things that will have to be addressed, but I'm hopeful that for the main group of people we are past the worst of it. We are all still sinful people so we do make mistakes along the way for sure . I just wish we could find better ways to do the "one- anothering" so that love would win out more frequently.

I love soups! That's what we'll have tonight. The next two nights will be busy ministry nights with our regular AWANA Bible club tomorrow night and a Fall Festival the next. Crock pot sounds good or we may have our bigger meal at lunch and just do sandwiches at supper.

My desk isn't too bad, actually.
But I have totally lost an almost finished card-front for another challenge, so I must admit I have tidied my desk somewhat in an attempt to find it. Failed attempt, so either it's stuck to something or has got into a pad of paper or whatever. I'll have to start again on that one.

I hope your DD gets better soon, Gail. Antibiotics, I presume? I hate them with a passion but sometimes they just are necessary.
It was an omelette here for dinner; I'd been out at my aunt's and DH had to take his mother to the audiologist so he was home late.

Gail, church is full of humans so you'll have that everywhere. I am kind of alone and rebuilding at my church. Issues took all my friends away. I don't care what color the carpet is or who has a tattoo. That's not why I'm there. I joined an awesome Sunday school class which is teaching us so much. We are concentrating on meeting people where they are, sharing our personal testimony when needed and not trying to just fill pews.I think if I work on "me" instead of trying to fix everyone else, I am heading in the right direction.

I'm not even close to clean desk and the house didn't get much attention this weekend since I was away and the family was gone at a swim meet, but it will still be there tomorrow. Time to make some soup and then maybe I'll have a chance to pop down and get a card made.

I wish!! I love meeting up with SCS folk who make it over this side of the Atlantic.
DH was looking at a motorbike for sale, and he kept on and on looking at the ad but thought it was too far to go just to try it out. I was encouraging him to go for it because we could have visited Bridget on the way . But he waited too long and it's been sold.

I wish I could join your group Kathy, I keep telling my mom, it is not about the number of people at the church it is about what is being taught during the service.

Nothing like the thought of company coming to motivate tidying up...
