HYCCT1225A Let's Lick This Thing Chatter Thread
Challenge Title: LET'S LICK THIS THING
Hostess: stampercamper - Mary
Keyword: HYCCT1225A
Date: Monday, October 25, 2012
This has been a very rough year for many of my friends. Since January 5 of of my friends have been diagnosed, 4 are currently doing good but my one very dear friend died. She was 46. I met her because she was the post mistress of a small post office that I always went to mail my swaps. We struck up a friendship and she joined my stamping team. She was one of those wonderful people who never met a stranger and is missed beyond belief.
So...in honor of her and all the lives she touched..."let's lick this thing". Make a card inspired by postage, using stamps or stamp shapes on your card.

I love to use faux postage, so this challenge was a treat for me. I hope the words on my card are not too religious for MD Anderson (part of the State of Texas).
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear friend, and that so many more of your friends are still fighting. I hope happy memories bring you some comfort.
Mary- thank you for sharing your stories.
For this challenge- I used CM's Place and Punch- postage stamp- and edged the 2nd layer with gold pen on the edges. I added a massive spider web and spider- and a squished witch- rather, her legs and shoes. Here's Boo Spiderweb

I saw all the wonderful pink cards today, and decided to do a pink and red one- using SU's Canine Capers and Bow Wow. Added a red dc cupcake topper upside down with a twine bow for an accent, and outlined my stamp edges in gold. Here's Love Doggies

I love your statement "let's lick this thing"! And what a nifty idea to incorporate postage stamps. So in honor of your friend (so sad) here is my card:

This was probably the easiest challenge yet. Thank you Mary! I started out with a major problem because I don't have postage stamps or dies. I was considering using a few real postage stamps somehow. Then I saw Tessaduck's card using post card dp, and all that remained was digging up my little scrap of the same paper.
I don't think I've made any of my hycct cards into birthday cards, so that's what I did with this one. Besides, the birthday sentiment image sort of looks like a postage stamp.
Here is my card for this challenge. I tried to replicate the new Forever postage stamp that came out for this Christmas. tfl and thanks to Mary for the good challenge!

Mary -- thank you for a fun challenge. I've never tried the faux postage technique before but I had just bought the stamp punch. Great excuse to play with it!
