My goal is to have every loose crafty end tied up by bedtime Sunday. I have to plan and order for SAS and get six mini comp books covered and decorated for the Halloween party. SO I'm off to the relative quiet of my bedroom to sketch card ideas and finish my Su order.

This was my goal also ... I've been "working" (and I use the term loosely) on a vacation scrapbook for ages. I wanted to have it all done by Oct 1st. Then I could concentrate on HYCCT for the month of Oct. November I could start Christmas stuff and my daughter's school albums (she's a high school senior - and I did a huge scrapbook for her brother when he graduated. She's counting on the same).
Didn't work on the vacation book at all. Funny how when I impose a deadline on myself, it sucks the creativity right out of me....
ha ha...y'all are so funny....altho I do have to keep the craft area clean as it is such a small spot and I'm one of those weird people that can't cook if the kitchen isn't clean....but don't look at the floor under the clean desk top please...
may have to look up that turkey bacon...I do like turkey "Italian sausage"...made vegetarian chorizo yest and thinking about trying it with the turkey sausage...
Ok, I tidied up my stamp space - not perfect, but at least I have a little room to work now! Think I'm going to have to make a card or two to warm up before Monday.
The whole family was out for the evening and I had just started working on my desk when my 18yo son who is moving out tomorrow brought his girlfriend home and they plopped down on the couch next to my stamping area and broke out family videos. Needless to say I didn't get a lot of cleaning done, but had a much needed injection of appreciation for how blessed I am! Highlight of the evening was watching the baby dedication service and prayer over said son! A timely reminder to both of us I hope!
Hi all....hope you have a great week-end.....off for the "Race for the Cure". We don't race (more like walk for the cure)....heeheee.....but "The Pointer Sisters" will be there in a pink sparkly force cheerin and supportin...
It seems hard to believe that October will be here in just two short days! My craft area is clean - it has to be. I can't work in a mess. I can make one heck of a mess but I have to straighten it up between cards or I can't create! My mind can't function in chaos so like it or not - I straighten up between projects!
So excited to participate in this challenge again this year! Today marks the 6th anniversary of when my friend lost her battle with breast cancer. Been thinking about her a lot lately....and especially today. She'll be a special part of my heart again this year when I participate in the cards. I am expecting a baby in November, so I sure hope I make it through October...I gotta get the cards made, lol!
Thanks to everyone who organizes this, I know it's time consuming, but we all thank you!

Hi all! This will be my first year participating. I might end up ordering some pink paper at my SU club next week but in the meantime my stash should do. I am sure you enablers will have me wanting something else too by that time!
I hope to do at least the majority of the challenges but I have a three week old and am just getting back into my crafty routine so we will see. I am allllmost done with thank you cards for people who brought gifts and dinners when he was born so I think my crafty slate is clean. Excited to get started! And to make bacon jam.

I will be thinking of you today!!!! How awful yet special this HYCCT must be!!!! Cancer plain ol SUCKS!!!!! :(
I just put up the blinkie! I am looking forward to participating in my 2nd HYCCT. I had only been stamping a few months last year at this time. I only made 4 cards in 2011. I hope to make much more this year...but right off the bat this week I ave to get ready for a trip. :( Maybe I can squeeze in some challenges too!!! I am so looking forward to the opportunity to play for such a good cause.
Happy to join in the HYCCT challenges this year! I also plan on chatting at least a little bit...I have hardly been around for a while. Missin' my cyber-stampin' friends!

Hi ladies! So excited that it's almost time!!! Two years ago I did every challenge, but last year I only got 4 cards made and the reason for that turns 1 on the 11th! I'm hoping to get them all done this year, but definitely more than 4! Baby birthday party might use too much craft time to get them all in.
Several family members have been treated at MD Anderson over the years. I only recently found out that my MIL had breast cancer a year or two before she passed away from ovarian cancer. I'm honored to contribute.
And, look away Lydia, I only eat vegetarian bacon.
I should go clear the floor in front of my stamp table so I can stand without tripping!
It's almost Monday! Which happens to be my 33rd birthday.

Will someone PLEASE tell my hubby's boss to stop scheduling 'mandatory fun' events so I can concentrate on my craft room and finish it up already?!! Seriously People!!
I am still going to be playing along, but I might have a lot of catching up to do at the end.... :-|

Ummm, HUBBY is the one ordered to have fun.... lol!!!!! Not thinkin' his Commander can order you to extra duty! ;)
Paula....what a fun way to spend your b-day....I think you should ask for several hours locked in your craft space as your present....along with appropriate snackage of course..

Hee hee! Yeah...it works out better when it's on a weekend. But I'll sneak one challenge in on Monday at least.

Gail -- what a great way to spend the evening! WAY better than cleaning your desk ;-)

Happy Birthday -- I hope you get enough time on your birthday to do a little stamping. And I remember last year with the new baby --- I was in awe that you were able to do ANY cards! All I could do when my babies were brand new was feed, change, and burp them. You were Wonder Woman to me!! :-)

I just went back through the gallery from last yr for a little inspiration....and found many I know I didn't see last yr. I tried to keep up but there are so many wonderful ones, I'm challenging myself this yr to go back through the galleries at end of each week until over so I can see all the wonderful creations....
At "Race for the Cure" the Survivors Strut to Gloria Gaynor's "I will Survive" is my favorite part of the day and the reason we are all there. This yr was the largest group of survivors I've ever seen and that makes me feel so warm and tingly all over. My mother was "clean" for 9 yrs before it came back but some of these gals have been over 15 yrs since treatment.....HALLELUIAH!!!!!....So to all you survivors; I salute you....and those of you still going through treatment; you are in my prayers and know that we are working towards ending this devastating diagnosis.....I pray that each and every one of you can feel the love and all the virtual hugs from this wonderful group of stampers as we go through this month of challenges that is meant to raise awareness but is also to show our support through the trials you face every day.

Happy HYCCT month everyone!!!
SO well said --
And going through the gallery for inspiration is a great idea!
Hi Ladies, I am hoping to join in the fun this year. My Aunt and Mom both were breast cancer survivors. I was 8 years old when my Aunt was first diagnosed. Back then, no one spoke about it. In fact, the doctor left the OR to ask my Uncle's permission to remove my Aunt's breast! She woke up and then found out she had had a mastectomy. Back then the Halsted procedure was preferred, even the underlying muscle was taken leaving you "caved in". I am so glad medical techniques have improved. Coming from Long Island with such a high breast cancer rate has always kept me vigilant about my yearly mammmogram appointments. Have you had your mammogram, yet?
OK Lydia....love the cat you posted waiting for the 1st challenge to begin.....I'll be at work waiting to get home to start on my cards. Thanks for all you do & organizing this.
Hugs to all & looking forward to chatting with everyone when I can, mostly during midnight hours.
I am so excited to see the master threads go up! I can't wait for tomorrow morning. I agree, thanks to the mods and challenge hostesses who make this possible!

anyone remember that old commercial where the woman is standing at the doors of a store going "open, open, open"?
That's how I feel about the challenges right now! Too bad I have to work tomorrow. I wish I could just stay home and stamp!
I am going to make extra dinner tonight so I can just eat leftovers tomorrow.
I am getting SO EXCITED for the fun to begin tomorrow! My craft room is clean and stocked and organized (for now)! I can't wait to see all of the beautiful cards that will be heading down to MD Anderson to hopefully spread some cheer amongst the patients and their families!
Joining in the fun this year for HYCCT. Can't believe I never joined these challenges.
First time for me, dedicating it to my dear friend Catherine and the three young children she left behind.
Every day is a gift.

So not ready. Not sure where the weekend went and there is still homework to do, baths to take, dinner to make. I should at least clear off the desk.
LOL, where are you Jen, my house? Sounds just like where we are right now! I'm still working on cleaning up the dinner mess, then baths, homework is almost done. Think I'm just going to sweep aside all the clutter on my desk!
