I'm excited to see everyone's cards!!!!!

Beate 10-05-2011 06:16 AM

Awesome sketch, Jimmi. We had the same idea. That's why I asked for circle cards. But then I chickened out and titled it differently. You go girl!

HYCCT Beacon of Light by Cook22 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
I love square cards :D.
I see I actually cut my triangles the same size instead of laying on on the base - but hey, all the edges are covered up so who's to know.

Shadow's Mom 10-05-2011 06:54 AM

Thanks so much, Jimmi! Love this great sketch!

Here's my So Glad We're Friends.

Well heck I didn't even make it square since I didn't have an envie AND I changed up the triangles ;-) Rules? What rules? lol

I'm almost caught up with the challenges!!! Loved this fun sketch. Here's my Circle of Thoughts

mamaxsix 10-05-2011 09:19 AM

I was cracking up over "the girls" being so mismatched in size. It reminded me of my mom calling hers Dolly and Parton because one has the temporary implant super filled with saline and is VERY perky and the other is her normal 73yo self.

I'm sorry for the dumb question, but I'm very new to challenges (HYCCT is my first one!!). I want to make sure that I'm understanding what to do for the challenge today. I saw the sketch that you did with the two circles and the triangle shape in the background. Do we need to basically make a card that has a similar look to the sketch and decorate/stamp/embellish it however we want? Does the card need to be square or can I make it more rectangle (as long as I keep the basic sketch look)? Is there anything else I should know about how the sketch thing works?

Sorry again for all of the questions, just want to make sure that I'm doing this right. :) Thanks!

carsondcat 10-05-2011 11:48 AM

My card HERE.

This is the first time I've used a sketch and I was amazed at how easy it was, thankyou Jimmi for setting the challenge I would never have used a sketch otherwise

I am unable to quote (computer issue) but will pitch in with my take on an answer for Amy. First of all, you might want to click on the link in jpmayo's challenge post (#1 above) to check out other cards in this particular gallery. I have not yet done so - but usually you find some variation on size and even layout - but a basic following of, as you mentioned, the two triangles and two circles. There will be different embellishments. Someone more knowledgeable than I will certainly chime in.

Exactly what Dorothy said above is right :)

Glad you are joining us!!!

Use the sketch as your basic layout and inspiration and let your creativity run wild!
Especially important is that you HAVE FUN while doing it.

(Sorry it took me so long to reply, had company over after work, this ismy 1st quiet moment of the day, ah!)

Clownmom 10-05-2011 05:07 PM

As I mentioned in the description of my card, one of my earlier HYCCT cards had almost the same layout. So you know I liked the sketch!!!
