Most cheese is made with an additive called "rennet." Rennet is obtained by using veal calves' stomachs, which means obviously the cow is dead, so not technically vegetarian. Some cheese is made with other enzymes besides rennet, which are ok for vegetarians because they're non-animal sources.
I think I'd rather go to bed picturing what I saw on an Olive Garden commercial tonight than a veal calf's stomach.
Since we were talking about squirrels a couple dozen pages ago...you can got to bed with thoughts of THanksgiving squirrel plum fairies dancing in your head!

Thanks for the info....I am always interested in learning! I don't eat a lot of meat....but definitely couldn't give it up! My hubby and kids are totally carnivores! But we also are HUGE dairy drinkers/eaters!
Isn't Vegetarian ok with dairy? I have a niece who is Vegetarian and she's ok with dairy. I thought it was Vegan (which seems soooo unhealthy) that couldn't have any dairy or eggs or things like that?
Lacto-ovo vegetarians are okay with dairy & eggs - that was the kind I was

Pasty = little round modesty tassle on the end of ya ta ta's
LOL LOL gosh will need to go back and read that!!
oooohhh DINI... love you being a stalker gal... 42 left awesome!
I've never come across your second version there, Ros!!
Pasty is sort of pale and sickly looking to me.
And the meat pie - Cornish pasties - I think I'm going to have to get me some swedes and make some. I still have enough lard for the pastry.
You chatty ladies you !!
Nestabilities - sounds great to me, woot woot. A good start to the day, along with the fact that at least the car started with a can of diesel in it and it's back in our driveway. (No, it wasn't empty, DH has run out before and sworn never again - some message about anti-pollutant system being faulty).
So - Lee's gone off the rails ;) (what a smilie, love it!!).
We're talking about dying hair - ha, check out One4Joy's sketch card yesterday. She has a quote about beautiful young people being an accident and beautiful old people being work. I said to her that I am thinking colouring my hair will be too much work and that I'd rather just go grey. There's still not enough to really show - in her twenties my sister used to look closely and say it wasn't fair, as she was already getting grey back then.
My favourite auto-correct has to be a friend who texted her husband asking him to bring more slaves to the party (plates!!). But Bev's quick typing and sick 'em up tool gave me a giggle this morning.
Congrats to all the winners, especially Connie.
And Meredith, what goes around comes around - last year I asked Lydia to put my prize back in her magic bag to give to somebody else.
Holy moly I actually won something! How exciting! Thanks so much, now I can stop talking about the one time I won a $10 gift certificate in 1980 and talk about the time I won some Verve!
good morning ladies! Another glorious day in Splitcoast Land! Not sure how many prizes are left but they should be drawn by tonight or tomorrow since Lydia has put a deadline on addresses by noon Friday I sent my email off to Lydia and trust that she got it. It didn't get returned anyway.
No definite plans for today. Baby it's cold outside in my little corner of the world! Seems like a good day to cozy up and craft!

Did I miss something about sending our addresses?
Did you see today's WT challenge is "It's cold outside" .
It's not, actually, here, but I'm just masking a scene and ready to start colouring it.
This sentence is in the first post of the "Prizes" thread. I'm glad I spotted it. There must be some who haven't.
"You must have your address to me no later than November 18th at noon Central, or you will forfeit your prize" I did sent an email the evening my name was drawn. I copied and pasted the sentence - I'm not sure how to quote a post from one thread to another.
I haven't looked at the challenge for today yet but will. I may or may not make a card for it but I usually look. Since it is cold outside today maybe I'll do that scrapbooking I've been talking about for a while! I'm also thinking of making up some cards to give away as gifts this Christmas since I'm not working and the budget's tight this year.

Well, I'm glad you mentioned it! I suppose I wasn't expecting to win so I hadn't looked that carefully  - usually I do. Well, I did read about the cello bags, at least .

Does that mean that prizes drawings will be completed this morning?

My grandpa was from Belgiuim and he worked in the mines. The wives would make Cornish pasties for the men to take to the mines as a convenient but hearty lunch. My Mom made them for us to take to school and the other kids always wanted to trade for them. She made them big - about 10 inches wide and we liked to eat them cold. Except for my Dad, who always insisted on them being hot ... with gravy. Pasties are a part of my childhood. I am rotten at making piecrust, so I don't always have success at making them and can't make them even half as large as my Mom's. I really want some now.

A 10" pie for lunch, wow, I am sure you were the envy of your classmates. Also thanks for commenting on a couple of my cards, Eleanor.

Maybe when she picked that deadline, she didn't expect it to drag out this long. It was all done with by the 10th last year.
Morning HYCCT buddies! So happy the rain has stopped and I can take my puppy on a nice long walk! Lots of tutoring students today (good for the wallet, bad for crafty chatting) but I hope to be able to hang with you all for some of the day or evening at least.
oh Sabrina.... very famous little accessories for showgirls and vaudeville gals.... still going in some places.... and are so good with them they can make those tassles twirl like a plane.... and then some can make one twirl in 1 direction and 1 in the other .... *looks down at her boobees* not sure mine could make it down the runway let alone make those tassle propel.... ones mind just boggles at this place called the planet LOL

Mine are pretty big, about the width of a dinner plate. I wish I could send you one . I used to make them anyway, but then we holidayed in Cornwall with friends - Lyn is Cornish and made them for a shop, so she gave me a lesson and now I make them even better. I usually make 4 - we have one each for dinner hot out of the oven, and then we have half each for lunch for the next two days!! I think I marginally prefer them hot, but cold is ok too. They always seem to need extra salt cold, though - I have wrap a pinch in a scrap of cling-wrap to put in DH's lunch bag.
