Default UGH! Can't match my SU! Reds!

I'm trying to reorganize my SU! paper this morning. I'm doing good with all but my reds! I have the color coach, but I just can't figure out the reds!

Cajun Craze and Real Red I think I have (they don't match the color coach, but they are different enough from the others).

But Riding Hood Red, Raspberry Ripple, Cherry Cobbler and Bravo Burgundy are driving me nuts!

Ugh!

I guess if they are so close to my eyes, what does it really matter?

I've considered the color coach but it just being printed versions of their cs and not the actual product, I've resisted buying it. I find comparing actual pieces of cs colors when I want a color combo works best for me. It's amazing how Wisteria Wonder, for example, can look grey and not lavender at all next to other purples! I don't have any Bravo Burgundy cs, it's too muddy for me and Riding Hood Red works by itself as a red, but dulls next to brighter reds.

I will attach some photos that are in my files that might help out.

Bravo Burgundy is a dark burgundy...it is the darkest of what you have listed...and has a brownish cast to it

Cherry Cobbler is a deep rich red.

Raspberry Ripple is really close to Cherry cobbler in intensity but it is obvious it has some blue in it.

Riding Hood Red definitely leans a bit to the orange

Cajun Craze is really close to the older Real Rust

Real Red is a bright clear intense red.

I don't have any pictures at the moment of the Raspberry ripple but if you have two that are really close, the bluer one is raspberry. I'd be happy to come over and sort them out for you but that might be a bit difficult!

BTW, that's one reason I don't have the color coach, but only one of many.

Thanks, Cindy and Diane! I think your descriptions and pictures will help. I'm also going to recruit my 11 yo daughter to help. Her eyes are so much better than mine.

I didn't really expect the color coach to help me organize my paper, but it does help me put together unique color combinations that I normally wouldn't do. I'm not always the best with colors (as the ugly maroon walls in my bathroom prove).

Beth, another place to get ideas for color combos is on pinterest. In both the dyi/craft and home decor boards people will post color samples. I print them out and put them in my smash book.

Wonder if your lighting has anything to do with it. I can grab socks in my bedroom (I keep room darkening curtains up due to my frequent migraines) that I swear are the right color and come out into the light and find they're blue when I thought they were grey.

LOL, Gail! I did just recently get better lighting so that might help a bit.
