I made Easter cards a month ago. Water color and glitter..So cute! I am trying to be better about mailing cards out that I had made for Birthdays and such. I cant find the Easter cards. I have looked on and off for the last few days. I started organizing my craft room so things have moved. I remember saying to myself take these cards and put them away for Easter. Now I cant find them! Making me nuts!

OK, I have done this to myself far to many times
What I do now is this....
I sit in my craft space, and look at each area in turn, and say to myself ...where would I have put them.... and then through a process of elimination I look in 'logical' places, I would say 9/10 times I find it on the first pass.
However, I had a set of glitter that I 'lost' I hunted high and low, and in the end figured I have given it away when I was clearing some extra unwanted craft stuff....yeah..no.. I found the set after 2 years in the pocket of one of my totes...of course....logical place for it to be ...NOT
Yep you are right . I FOUND THEM! I bought a new cart from Ikea. I have a stack of little baskets in there. The cards were in the basket. Of course all of the things were the same color. Aqua blue cart, basket and cards. Yeah! Hopefully I can get them to my family in time!
Yea! So glad you found them. I have done the same thing and been so mad at myself!
What cracks me up is at the time I am putting something away, all the while I am telling myself "I'm going to put this "here" so I will remember where it is."

It wouldn't have worked for your cards, but my sure-fire method for finding missing somethings in the crafting cave is to give up and go buy another one. Within 24 hours of the new one entering the crafting space, the old one shows up. I think they get jealous.

Oh, we are soooo alike. Many times I have put something somewhere because I was sure I would remember that spot! And one time I was looking for a die (I think I posted this story somewhere on here before so forgive me if you read it before) and I looked through the box that I keep all of my dies in at least four or five times and eventually found it, in THAT box! Really? They are all labeled and in CD cases, so how I missed it is beyond me.

That is exactly my method! I like your explanation.

This is so true...jealous lost craft goodies are a nightmare to deal with...
So glad you found them. I've misplaced cards I made ahead too many times and what I finally did was get a Artbin plastic box, put the finished cards in it, and put the box on my desk where I put the stamps, address and return labels on them. Haven't lost them since!
I was getting set to blame the Easter Bunny or Tooth Fairy. Drives me crazy when things hide in plain sight.
I hate when you lose something in your pocketbook! How can that be, it's not that big but you look more than once and all of a sudden it appears.

I was planning to give 6 sets of cards as Christmas gifts last year, so I bought the clear plastic boxes designed for cards. Came time to package the gifts - no plastic boxes in sight. I found everything else that came in that order, but not the card boxes. So I used gift bags instead. And nope, still haven't found those silly boxes. And I've tried sitting and looking around my room and trying to figure out that "logical" place. Tried that a couple of times before Christmas, and several times since. Still no boxes.
Oh well, they'll turn up while I'm looking for that logical place I put something else.

Yeah, re-organizing does it to me every time. When I am reorganizing I tell myself I'll have to remember where I am placing these and you guessed it - I can't find them later. I just found some plastic bookmark covers the other day that I misplaced over a year ago. I found them in a very logical place, too. Sheezzz!
Reorganizing did it to me. I'm in the process and decided to make some Easter cards for my Bible Study group. After finding almost every thing to make them, I realized I couldn't find my stamping blocks. So I put double sided tape on the top of a small jar that pimentos came in.it worked like a charm and the little jar was very comfortable to hold. Who woulda thunk it?

Glad you found them! I made 1 Easter card this year and managed to mail it today- fingers crossed it gets there Saturday!
I think the key is to put them in a consistent mailing place like the artbin. For me it was easy as I was sending it with a small flat rate box of Easter goodies so I popped it in there after I photographed it so I wouldn't lose it.

Well, now that you found them can you help me find my lost stamp set ;-) I was missing the matching dies too but found me in the weirdest place today. But that pesky stamp set is still missing. I questioned if I even received them in my stampin Up order but I photo copy every set when I get them and found the photo copy!
This is the pesky set that I've lost Itty Bitty Banners Clear-Mount Stamp Set
Truthfully I don't know if I bought the clear or wood set!

It breaks my heart to this day, I did this with my diamond stud earrings! I put them on layaway years ago and paid them off little bit by little bit. I had to take them off because I was going for a medical procedure. That was in October 2011. :(

- I found the special Christmas card I made for DH for Christmas 2011 when I was getting ready to start organising my 2012 cards for sending out. By which time I'd obviously made him a card not just for 2011 but also for 2012 .
This year I've just put his anniversary card in my regular box of cards to keep for my own personal use, and hope I'll remember it's there when the time comes round.

Oh that is terrible about losing your diamonds that you worked so hard for. I hope they show up soon! Makes my missing stamp set seem silly to worry about. (I think I will just go ahead and buy another set and then I should find he missing set soon after!)

I did that with some rings once and found them years later. There is something to be said for being a mini-hoarder. Hope you find them.

This is my excuse for not organizing;) (it couldn't just be laziness of course!)
Amber, when you find the sock monkey stamp when you aren't looking for it, will you see if my sterling silver cuff bracelet with three embossed tiny stars is there too?......sigh....
Glad you found them! Once I hid $500 in a perfect spot so no robber could find it when we went on vacation...I didn't have time to get it to the bank. You guessed it, I hid it so well that I couldn't find it when we got home. Oh my gosh, aren't we just loony sometimes! Eventually I found it but it took days. UGH!

June, I was! I hate losing stuff!!! And the worst part? It was my stampers' checks and cash from probably two stamp clubs. I kept trying to decide if I should tell them (since their checks weren't going to get cashed) or if I shouldn't because I would look like the dumbest demo ever. Luckily I found the money right as I was about to fess up. Did you get your e-cloths yet?!

I still have hope! It is nice to know we all do this.
I made a special card for my pap's 91st bday and forgot to give it to him!

Is the spoon in your garbage disposal? I just chopped one of my measuring spoons up in the garbage disposal, LOL. Your method sounds like my method for getting food served at a restaurant...it always comes if I get up and go to the bathroom. ;)

You all were right...I gave up on the stamp wondering if:
Toothfairy stopped by and took it?
Santa needed it for someone else?
Eaten by sweet little dog of mine?
Hubby sold it?
It was found...last place I would have looked. Hope all the other missing items turn up ladies..
blessings.
I store my finished cards in photo boxes. I even cut shirt cardboard and labeled them as dividers. I store them upstairs where they are handy and can't get lost in my stamping room downstairs.
