So I noticed my SU catalog date is through May...I'm supposing we will be getting a new one and this new one will have new stamps, right? Any ideas on what kinds of new stamps? huh? I'm not asking for reveals just ideas...I like dreaming

No, we don't know stuff until May-ish. Some people will see it early this year but they aren't supposed to say anything....there are a few sneak peek things out like the little scallop circle set you can order and the this & that line.
It will have new in colors, a small color revamp probably, new stamps, new accessories, and new DSP's.
I love new catty time too! I signed up to go to the Salt Lake City Regional after SU! announced the debut of the new catty at that Regional. It's a long way from Louisiana to Utah but so worth it!
You should have seen all the current catalogs they gave away at the UT Scrapbook Show this last weekend. Must have been a good way to clear out inventory for the new catty.
Mindy do you really think they'll be doing a colour revamp? I was talking to my demo about that and she said she thought if they were going to do that they'd have announced it by now so people could prepare.
I can't wait to see the retired stamp list in the beginning of May. I expect it will be a little shorter than last year.

Yes, they have basically told us there will be one. I do think it will be small. I'm thinking 5 colors at the most but we don't know and probably won't for sure for a while. I'm not exactly sure of the date when all demos can see the catalog yet but that's only when we will know. They have switched the dates around a bit and now are having an early release party for some people but again I think they aren't supposed to tell....
They said after the last color renno that we can expect SMALL changes every 3-5 years and this will be 3. Personally, I'm excited because I"m very happy they are keeping our colors fresh, updated, and trendy! The old ones were VERY stale (as are some of ours now). We will see..... :-)
I do think the retired list will be shorter since we are now in the new catalog strategy and not in the midst of the change!
Hmmm... well then, depending what colours they change, I will not do what I did last time and get rid of retiring ones. If they got rid of, say, Bravo Burgandy, I might let it go because I never use it. But if they retired, say, Bashful Blue and subbed in, say, Pool Party (please!), I'd keep both.
What I would love is to see them bump up 12 colours/group again. That way we can get a violet-y/purple-y colour and not lose what we have. I love the current colour palette.
I agree, I'd hate to see any of the current colors go. If anything, add more colors, especially a blue-ish purple (light and dark) and another medium blue that's really blue, not greenish blue. I'd also like Going Gray or something similar to come back.

this guessing game is going to keep everyone on the edges of their seats until the new catalog is out! Every ad and new product they peek, we'll be studying it to see if we recognize anything new. :p
Going back to 12 colors in a family would be great, but I'm prepared to see some regular colors simply replaced with recent InColors. For example: Calypso Coral for Tangerine Tango and Pool Party for Baja Breeze. I haven't bought an InColor ink pad since the big revamp in 2010, been using the markers instead.
And we can add to this all the speculating on the 2013-1015 InColors too!
I can say I do so love some of the colors from the two in color groups like Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple. I'm just getting familiar with the rest of it (Melon Mambo, so yummy!)-hope it doesn't go away anytime soon!

I hear ya but don't hold your breath. So, I see them offering more from time to time but not in the new catalog. Not trying to be negative at all but I think in reality they just won't be there. But I'm hoping they do release more :-)
I am more excited for this new catalog than I have ever been in my decade of stamping! The clear stamps, the "this and that line"....it all has me on the edge of my seat! I hope SU has a lot of great scrapbooking stuff for 2013!

Okay. :( I can wait for another year (I'm assuming they'll be in next year's catalogue then, since my demo said the photopolymer stamp supplies were nearly depleted and it was a huge success...

You may not have to wait a whole year. Maybe they will have something in the next mini? I don't want alphabet stamps so I didn't order the set, but I really would like to try the photopolymer stamps. I really like being able to see exactly where I am stamping.

Hey anything is possible...I just don't want people to be disappointed if there aren't any in the new catalog. Possible in the Holiday mini I suppose but that won't be out for a while. I think they will just release new ones as specials like this first one for a while....but SU always surprises me :-)

Of course there will be a retiring list :-) I'm not sure on the date though. There hasn't been an official announcement but I did see talk of April 24th but I'm not sure that's set in stone....I'll update if I find out. They seem to be doing things a bit differently this time around....

Mindy, are demos allowed to order from the full catalogue early, or just certain sneak peek items? Are you allowed to show samples from anything you order, or, again, just from a special list?
Demonstrators can only order "sneak peek" items early. We can't post images of the new items (like a stamp set) before the catalog release date. We can post projects made with the new items before the release date.

Yes, it's only a small sampling of new items we can order and we can't show the actual products on our blogs as mentioned above (however your demo can show you them in person!). But on May 2 you will start seeing projects posted. I usually take the first and second off and then next day air and stamp right away but I'm not able to take the days off this year so hopefully I'll still have time to stamp and share!
I can't wait to see the new catalog!! I feel like a kid again, waiting for the mailman to bring the big JC Penney catalog before Christmas!
OMG Yes! that was like the best thing every in the mail!! I love the new catty too..I sit for hours, I even take it to bed with me...along with my highlighter and post flags!

Yep on the edge of my seat! LOL
My favorite part of being a demo is the sneak peaks!
What I look forward to most is the demo swaps here on SCS..using only new items. (can't wait for them to start) that way there are samples in the galleries right away for every to get inspiration from and help make the decision to buy or not to buy! LOL.
That is one of the ways I make the choice too.
It is a great way for demos to also get a few new samples to show customers.
