Default Question concerning a specific type of scissor

I keep seeing a pair of scissors in my local Mike's and A.C. Moore stores and I'm always wondering what they are for since it's not indicated on the package. They have big round "D" shaped handles and the blades are not that long. Am I missing something that would be helpful to my paper crafting? (I'm hoping their purpose is NOT for something so obvious I have to hit myself on the side of the head!)

Are they like these: http://www.kaiscissors.com/pop.php?f...ges/5626-r.jpg

Those are Kai rubber stamping shears, like Stampin' Up's rubber scissors. I think the handles are that way to be comfortable when cutting through thick materials and to give extra leverage. The short blades allow for detail cutting.

Hope this helps!

They could also be the Tim Holtz scissors that are made by Tonic or Ranger. I have and love them. They cut through anything and stay razor sharp. Highly recommend buying them with a coupon.

Yes, those are the scissors I was talking about. Only they were by Tim Holtz. I missed seeing them in the SU catalog. I know what I'm buying this week at Mike's with my coupon. Thank you ladies.

I love my Tim Holtz one's too. Go for it. Use them for everything and they clean up great with Goo Gone after mounting.

Chiming in on Tim Holtz scissors. I love them for cutting rubber and other stuff. Like a previous poster said, cleans up well with goo gone if they get sticky.

I adore my Tim Holtz/Tonic scissors. They are my go to scissors. I love how powerful they are and easy on my hand (bad wrist), and that they are nonstick and clean up is a breeze. I am glad to see you picked up a pair. ENJOY!!
