Hello my colorful stamping friends!~ I am your hostess this week, and I have some sad news to share first. Our own Julia Aston, better known as artystamper here on SCS, is leaving our team. Julia finds herself over extended as we all do from time to time, and has to move on. She promises us though that she will still play along with us whenever she can.
Julia Aston - when I think of Julia, I think of someone who teases me about how often my lips freeze when I first see her color combinations. Then the next thing I think of is how everytime I rise to the challenge of doing Julia's combos, I end up with a card I totally LOVE and one I never would have put together left to myself!! Julia is known for her beautiful monochromatic color combos, (a neutral color is almost ALWAYS one of her three colors) - and she's also known for her CAC style, (that's my own acronym, and it stands for CLEAN AND CLASSY! ;) In my humble opinion there is NOTHING simple about clean and simple, so I renamed it CLEAN and CLASSY!! I adore Julia's CLEAN and CLASSY style....so I decided to choose colors that put my lips into an immediate DEEP FREEZE, and for dessert, a CAC style card!! Here are this weeks colors, which in honor of Julia, ALL come from the neutral pallet!
VERY VANILLA
BASIC BLACK
CRUMB CAKE
and for dessert as I said, a CLEAN AND CLASSY style card!! It will look like an entire gallery of JULIA ASTON creations, and what better way to say THANK YOU to Julia, for all her hard work over these last years??? WE love you JULIA!
Good thing I love to blab, because I have MORE ANNOUNCEMENTS!! What a tough job we had choosing 2 stampers as our CONTEST WINNERS for the February Guest Designer spots.....IT WAS JUST TOO HARD!! WAH, WAH, I myself kept picking and repicking.....as did my other team members, so we decided to choose MORE THAN TWO!! A few of you have heard from us already, as we are choosing a couple of months beyond Feb for additional guest designers.....so a few more will still hear.....thanks for playing along with all of your wonderful creations - remember the criteria was you had to participate in both challenges, CC410, and CC411, AND you had to have DESSERT as well!! So, for the month of FEB...........
Designing with us this week as our (first)CONTEST WINNERS, from the last two challenges are.......(drum roll please.....)
Robin Lee......and Nancy Littrell!! Gorgeous work ladies!! Welcome as our February guest designers!!
NEXT WEEK we will announce the newest member of our color challenge team! STAY TUNED!!
Remember these Stampin'Up! colors are just a guideline - it's ivory, black and kraft- so everyone can play along!! Have fun with this tribute to JULIA!
A very "Julia" challenge, Karen. A lovely way to honor her and the time and energy she has given to the CC. I, for one, always enjoyed her combinations. Hope you feel better soon.

Ah, what a striking combo of neutral colors, Karen. As for Miss Julia, she will certainly be missed. Julia, you have inspired me so many times. Relax and refresh and we hope to still see you in the gallery from time to time. Signing off to create.....

Karen- what a wonderful tribute to a creative lady, Julia! I used a cream and gold doily, along with some ribbon and pearl embellies. My image is simply colored with pencils and gold marker. Here's Friendship Card for Julia

I always love this color combination and was excited to see the challenge today...hope I captured the Clean & Classy dessert, too! Best of luck, Julie!
Here's to you Julia, a Clean and Classy card, but don't take the sentiment at face value, LOL. Fabulous idea Karen, love all your chatter. Typewriter Sends out Sympathy
