I got excellent results doing this. the marker will melt the crayon and then you can blend without tearing the paper.
Thanks for this tip Joan, I have a lot of copics but don't use them much because I get out of the line with them all the time. But I LOVE all my colored pencils and will try them out with my copic colorless blender.
