I can't seem to find anything for the top trends?! Anyone else seen anything? If not, what are your top trends this year? I'm thinking vintage is one of the trends as it seems to be everywhere on the cardmaking aisles. Thanks for taking the time to check this out!

You might want to check out PaperCrafts' trends editor Cath Edvaldson's blog in general and maybe this post from CHA week in particular - lots of trend info! (click on the CHA label at the bottom of the post to see the others she made that week or on the blog header to go to the blog's home page and look at more recent posts).
I got to go to my first Craft and Hobby Association shows this year. Here's what I saw. 50's era vintage is very in. Also vintage cameras and mustaches. Chevrons were replaced with hexagons. Burlap and cork is hot. And die cuts! I think hand sewing is going to stay and even advance to more embroidery-type stitches. Oh, and mason jars (love them). Washi tape is still hot, and some manufacturers are making Washi sheets. Can't wait to get my hands on some of those.
I don't get the mustaches either! I'm happy to stay away from that trend. I'm trying not to give in the hexagons/bees, although I've noticed the pattern on equipment at my gym is hexagons! I just don't see myself using the pattern more than a couple of times.
I swore when mustaches became hot two or three years ago I was doing a countdown timer when that trend would fade away, lol. Mustaches on men are attractive. Mustaches just laying there all by their lonesome self freak me out. I will never understand the trend either. Lots of people have fun with them and that's what counts. I like owls and cupcakes I know people have a countdown timer on those to fade away, ROFL!
I concur on Stickups list of 2013 trends. I am seeing the same trends too. I am excited about the embroidery trend. I also think more mixed media is going to hit the market hot like resin, mold making kits, dies to make your own resin embellishments. I do see more Project Life and Smash Book designs.
Personal trends for me are Downtown Abbey creations. I was kind of sad to see CHA go for a more Mad Men theme this year than Downtown. Really CHA? Jon Hamm is more influential than Maggie Smith. Shaking my head. !
I see two different directions. Lots of dimension with dies and more dies but also no-layers with retro images and colors. The mustache thing, IMO, is on the way out, except for kid stuff. I never got it but my 11-year-old has gone 'stache crazy!

Geometrics are also hot right now, hexagons and chevrons from last year plus more dotted designs with medium to large circles . Also, large florals and large botanicals like veggies and leaves are back. I'm glad I have saved a lot of older stamps, especially big florals, they are getting "in" again.

Chalkboard technique is really big right now, too.
And LOLLLLLL - Ditto what lylacfey said about mustaches 'just laying there all by their lonesome self freak me out' haha - I don't get the mustaches thing either, but apparently it's a big trend right now..I love Dyan Reaveley and she was wearing a necklace during CHA demos and the focal point of the necklace was a really big mustache so this trend is global ..

I agree on the mustache thing - the only one I've loved is the one attached to a pacifier that one of my grandson's other grandmas gave him (pic attached - gratuitous bragging, natch! It's blurry 'cuz he didn't want to hold still...)

Thanks for the link, Joanne! I was glad to see feathers and cameras in the mix - love 'em both! I've never been a fan of chevrons (too angular for me), so I'm not thrilled that they're still big, but I'm loving the burlap thing...

cameras --old vintage ones-- seem to be big right now. Lots of Chalk board stuff with lettering and statements in bright colors on cards.
More Diecuts and/or stamps and dies together.
I don't get the mustache thing either. However I did see kind of a cute statement with one: I mustache you a question, but I'll shave it for later...at Archivers.
Another way to use the hexagon is as chicken wire to go with the rooster set. That is how i first saw and got it. It wasn't until later that i saw and thought of it as honeycomb for bees.
I don't know about anyone else, but I seem to really be into houses, doors and windows. I don't know why but I'm obsessed. I've even made a few house Christmas cards using the Crafter's Companion dry embossing board and paper piecing. It was a blast! I also did a lot of tall door cards with a wreath on it...everyone loved it.

I totally don't get that trend at all!!
The guys in my life DO shave, but they don't see it as a pleasure; they see it as a chore!! I don't see myself ever using a mustache stamp on a card, except maybe as a thank-you card for a barber??
I love the vintage/nostalgia look on cards. You can go so many different ways with the designs from a sympathy card to birthdays or anniversaries. SU has a great set called Feeling Sentimental that I love and have used for "guy" cards stamping the image on very vanilla cs and layering with crumb cake and black. (the stamp set is offered through their Sale-a-Bration folder until 3/22/13).
Re : mustaches. Glad I'm not the only one who does't get it!! My local Archiver's was featuring Hero Arts mustache set with a make n take. I just don't see the appeal either and can't imagine it will last long. It's not like owls, cupcakes, etc where there is a lot of different things you can do with it. Meh...

It was all drab colors and faded prints. Sort of reminded me of what you would find in an old condemned house riddled with termite and water damage. Just plain ugly in my opinion. I threw them away when I got home. I don't think the other girls were impressed either since nobody seems excited about going to another class.

Boy am I with you on this one. I know some people really love the vintage look but to me it's drab and dull looking and just doesn't interest me at all. This whole mustache, eyeglasses, camera, etc. trend just ties into the vintage style and I am definitely not a fan.

I agree with you, and love your description. But, for every one of us who feels that way, there is someone else who just loves vintage and thinks it's beautiful.
I have trouble these days with all the random strips of washi tape just layered on cards everywhere. Sometimes, the colors of the tape don't even coordinate with the card. But there you go - lots of people love this tape and have rolls and rolls of it.

They may even think my likes are childish or unsophisticated as one friend likes to describe my obsession with glitter and all things sparkly. I just get annoyed when the "latest look" is shoved down my throat. Michaels was the worst this year. All I wanted was some basic christmas red and green cardstock. Everything they had was designer vintage/grunge packs. Even the individual cardstock was lacking in selection. My fault for not planning ahead and ordering online.

We sound like two peas in a pod stamping-wise! I again completely agree with you-my stamping friends call me the "Glitter Queen" for a reason! Maybe those of us who like the bling are particularly disinclined to appreciate the grungy, more drab look of the vintage style like many others do-it just doesn't fit who we are.
Seems to me like mix and match patterns is even more popular than ever. Some patterned papers are actually mixes of several patterns! And I hear triangles and feathers are in. I'm not stuck in them tho. I love cameras, vintage and Polaroid frames. Also metallic gold with lots of sparkle is in.

I love houses, windows and doors. I always have. A lot of my stamps, die cuts and embellishments are home theme.

Sophie that is funny. I think it depends on the man at least for me. I like guys who are rugged. I am giving them the side eye if they are too polished up. I am wondering what they are hiding behind all that polish. !
My DH has a beard and mustache. I think he looks so handsome. All our friends and his co-workers keep calling him Jesus. Drives me crazy. When he shaves off his beard our friends call him Warlock because he looks exactly like Julian Sands.
My thing is when a guy dyes his mustache. The look that really gets me when the mustache is darker than hair. I am always thinking "Next on America's Most Wanted!"
