Cutterpillar Pro paper cutter

Has anyone used the Cutterpillar Pro paper trimmer? It operates very much like the Genesis paper trimmer. I just wonder how it performs? Thanks.

I have the first version of the Cutterpillar and like it very much. I really like not having to replace the blade, which is self sharpening, and the light is very helpful. There's a newer version that just came out, but I don't know what the changes are.

My local scrapbook store just got one for people to come try out and it's AWESOME! It is very similar to the Genesis, just way cheaper! It's just a bit smaller and the cutting lights are LEDs that run off of 5 AA batteries. I love that it has the self-sharpening blade and the ruler measures to 1/16 of an inch! It was fantastic to see how precise the blade cut. I was in love and purchased one!

Does anyone know how many pieces of card stock the Cutterpillar Pro can cut at one time?

I think it's made to do one sheet at a time. I've gotten away with two or three sheets of light CS. I did notice however, that the cut was a little rough on the top sheets. Hope that helps!

the promos say it cuts "multiple sheets" but nowhere does it say how many and they don't promote that feature in the videos. I too, am wondering if it really cuts multiple sheets? I'm really considering this and want to make sure it's worth it.

My worry is that there is no 'thingie' to hold the paper while it cuts. Don't know how you could cut more than one sheet this way. The video show the person cutting in both directions but will the multiple paper stay straight why cutting downward?

I have a large Tonic that I am happy with. Will wait and see what actual users say after they have had it a while.

Mine arrived yesterday. I'm very impressed with it so far. I loved the one I had already, so I bought it to see how I liked it cutting smaller pieces. If I like it, I'll keep it. If I don't, my daughter needs a better one so she can have it. Because of that, I took the chance.

It's VERY sturdy. Mostly metal. My first cut was slightly rough. The rest have been smooth. So, I think it was "first use" thing or something. No biggie.

My box says:

No more than one or two sheets should be cut at a time.

It is not recommended to trim heavy chipboard, thick plastics, cloth, or metallic stock.

I, too, saw the video and it looked pretty good....but, it'd have to be awesome to get me to change from my large Tonic cutter like the commenter above mentioned she also has. Best cutter I've owned. Gina K recommended it since that's what she used in some of her videos and she was correct about how well the Tonic cuts. I, too, like the plastic thingy that holds the paper while you cut.

I have one a really like it. I think the difference in version 1&2 isin 2the drawer underneath has a catch to keep it shut. And 2has a lightly frosted cover over the lite.

I've cut 2 heavy cardstock sheets at one time before, mostly by accident, but it works just fine. I've even cut some chipboard with it. Fairly thick, I just needed it cut and it was there, so I tried it.

Blade is supposed to get better over time. I had read that when you first get it to take a piece of paper and make like 40 cuts on it. It does make it flow,cut better.
