I am "positive" I can't afford 100 of them LOL
Matter of fact I can't afford even 25 of them
That would be $500-$600
I hope a lot of them are for the new Artisan Machine to make jewelry/embellishments.
I am not even going to punish myself and look at them on the 12th when Marcos puts them up on his site. Nope!

I wonder it is actually 150 new sets, or 150 new DIES. As in, would a set with 6 separate dies, different sizes of the same shape, count as 6, or just as 1?
It looks like there are a lot of sneak peeks on their web site. So far it looks like the new ornate gold dies and more in existing lines like Card Creator and Page Maps.
I love all of the label dies, but at some point, there's only so many different shapes that are different enough from what I already have to buy more...

From Marcos site it appears there are nearly 150 dies and folders (sets) .
He has 30 up on the site and those have multiple dies/folders in each set

I was out on Marcos site earlier this evening adding items to my wish list with the intent of purchasing them at some point in time but not right now. The only sad thing about that is Greg is offering 20% off for pre-orders (he's been doing this with new releases for a little while now). ::sigh::

I'm just looking and thinking my silhouette will cut something like that. So far I haven't seen any have to haves.

I'm encouraged to hear you say this because I just got an electronic cutter and I'm TRYING to curb my spending for a while. If my machine can do this, then I won't feel deprived by not getting the dies LOL plus I'll be getting good use out of my new machine - win/win, right?

Hopefully, yes. With more to be seen, I may just see something I cannot live without. So far, I keep thinking I bet I could find something similar on my silhouette.
My wallet is hiding under the sofa until the previews are over!

Before I went into hiding I saw one die set I "really" love. It is "Beautiful Enchanted Labels 28". The largest die is 5" x 7" and I make 5" x 7" cards. However, later when I saw the price tag I decided it was too high. There are 3 dies in the set and it is regularly $39.99. Even if I wait and get it with a coupon that is still a lot for only 3 dies and one of them is little

I never buy any die if I can cut the same shape with my cricut, and I really think that some are so overpriced, I'm sure they can't possibly cost so much to produce.

I use my Cricut too. My most precious cartridge is Lacy Labels. I use it all the time. When I buy steel rule dies I always make sure it's a die I will be using with different materials. I have always wondered that too how much the dies cost when produced. I am geeky and I like to think about those things.
I think this years trend will be less electronic die cutting and more manual cutting. I think a lot of companies are going to come out with an influx of designs. It's going to be an exciting and overwhelming year for manual die cutter fans.

I hope there isn't too many dies I actually must have this year!! It will be easier on the pocket.
I only have the cartridges my cricut came with as I think they are over priced too, I buy SvGS and have loads of freebies so I still use it most days. SCAL is the best thing I paid for.

That is what I was thinking too. I still want the curved matting basics even though my Silhouette will cut those because it just more convenient to run it through my Vagabond.

Convenience is important! So is portability, which metal dies do have and advantage.

I enjoyed looking at all the new Spellbinders dies. So many gorgeous designs! Like most of us, I could never afford all the ones I want but it's fun to look and decide which few to get.
A Cameo would be great but it's just not possible right now. Even if I got one, I have no dedicated computer or childproof place to set it up. My Big Shot is my favorite crafting tool and I love metal dies so I enjoy having new designs to choose from.

I just saw a CHA 2013 video on YouTube and you can use Spellbinders dies to create silicone molds with silicone putty and use the molds with resin, melted UTEE, clays.
I think these molds made from the Spellbinders dies look awesome. I never thought of using the dies to make a mold and I love to make custom embellishments. They'd be good for jewelry, too, so this has lots of possibilities.

I think they are too many. There are a couple designs I like from the previous release, I am trying to enjoy and use what I have, and I will add only a few designs I like to my collection.
I checked the website and I was overwhelmed, I feel they are releasing way too many products. I don't know if it a good marketing decision in this period.

I love to do this. I have been using silicone putty to make my own molds with Spellbinders for awhile now. I have made some pretty jewelry pieces and frames using my "Spellbinder molds". It is really fun. That is one expensive hobby I just had to get addicted too. Looking for a better place to buy Silicone putty so I can have it large batches.

DeeAnn, good for you - you are one smart cookie! It never occurred to me to use Spellbinders dies to make molds but I am definitely going to try this.
