Default valentines

Where can I find instructions or tutorials for making valentines? I am looking for one with a cutout heart filled with glitter. The heart window is backed with packing tape. Can't remember where I saw it. Can anyone help? Onehanded

Dear Bound4london Thanks so much for your help. I need plenty of time to create my cards. My handicaps are having the use of only one hand and and a lack of funds for fancy tools and stamps so I have to be inventive. I live in an assisted living facility and my hopes are to get the activities department interested in card making. Will be in touch. Onehanded

Dave Brethauer from Memory Box did an Ombre heart video using packing tape and a heart die. Could that be the one you were thinking of? Here's the link Memory Box Ombre Glitter Heart Card - YouTube

I have been trying to think how to cut out the basic heart shape without the die or diecut machine.

Exacto makes a swivel knife and basic templates you should be able to use. You would need to tape down the template to keep it steady, but they have a basic heart shape along with some others. I have seen these at Walmart before.

Designer Series Decorative Shapes Templates

These would only be able to cut the basic heart shape. The filigree style heart needs a cuttlebug or big shot, but I am not sure if they work that well with only one hand. There are electric versions of the manual cutters, they can be rather expensive.

I did notice Joanns has the cricut cake on clearance in some of their stores for $59.00. Of course cricuts get expensive when you start adding cartridges.

Sorry, I'm so slow with this. I have gathered some paper, Valentine stamps, ribbons, glitter, ink pads, and I think a few other items. I will get them to the post office in the next couple days so the package should be there by the end of next week. I hope you and the other residents at your assisted living facility can make good use of them. Have fun onehanded! I hope by bumping this to the top some others might want to clear out some of their stash. (Note: I need to do some severe cleaning and will likely find more goodies to mail your way.)

Hope my package made it to you and that you can find a way to use the supplies. I had great plans for Valentines daycards but so far, nothing!

Heart package

Dear bound4 london Your package arrived and we were so excited to open it and see all the great stuff! We certainly can use every thing. I had spent the weekend learning to tie a bow with the fork method. I is tricky with one hand as I can't get a pressure hold to tie it. But I did it and now have plenty of ribbon to practice on. We are going to make some simple valentines first. What is your choice for and all around adhesive? Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Weare on our way to becoming Happy Stampers. Jean

So glad that it arrived safely. There are so many adhesives out there for use. I use an ATG gun but it is not the easiest tool to use at times and being able to only use one of our hands it would not be my adhesive of choice. Beate, who does many of the tutorials here loves Scoretape. Tape runners and double sided tape are great and easy to use. I hope you all are able to enjoy your card making and stamping. If I can find sme more goodies to share I will forward them your way! Have fun!!!!

Would you be able to use a reverse action tweezers to hold the bow while you're tying it? I know there's a technical name for them, but it's not coming to mind. But the ones that you have to squeeze to open them, normally they're closed. I use the one from DH's computer toolkit sometimes!

What supplies do you feel would be most helpful to you and those you are making cards with? I would love to send a package your way, too!
