Arrow December 2012 Scrap Pages and Scrap Chat - sbc12Dec

Scrappin' Challenge 2012

Can you believe this is our 4th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009, 2010 & 2011 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2012! Let's keep scrappin'.

It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2012! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...

What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!

Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for February. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for this month, if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.

*In this thread, we'll track how we do for the month. Look HERE to share and track your Annual Goals. *

You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!

The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund!

Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2012 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!

(Pssst...in case you're interested in the "history", here's the thread that started it all 4 years ago...

We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc12dec"

I had thought I would be too busy for any scrapping this month but there are 8 pages I need to finish for my Christmas Album. So 8 it is!

Okay, you need to change my totals up there, it looks bad from here!
I am going to count the 20 pages I did for my GF. So I have 91 done of my 100 pages.
My goal for December is 9.
Thank you!

Leave my December goal at 8. It'll be a busy month but I have a few days off.

I have 21 pages done so make my annual 28. Next year I'll start out with an annual goal in January.

Hey Lela. You can update my totals too. I've completed 51 pages this year and now I need to finish up Christmas cards (hopefully this week) and then maybe I can get back to scrapping although the SBA loan my DH has been working on for the past several months has finally gone through so maybe by the middle to end of December I'll be very busy setting up a new company for him and his partners. I've got jury duty coming up on the 19th and then DGS is out of school from the 21st till the end of the month so I'm sure I'll be busy keeping him occupied...might even do some holiday entertaining this year since I'm not working any more (other than with DH at the moment)! I've still got quite a few pages started. Went through my file last week and wrote them all down so now just need to finish them up. I counted a little over 100 pages that need to be uploaded and printed out so that will be another item on my list and then I'll have to put them into sleeves and arrange them for albums.

Off to do menu planning and grocery shopping now...have a good day!

I have done an update on my goals to finish off the year. My goal is to complete 141 pages for the year with (after today) 4 left to go.

When I was going back over each month, I could tell the times I went to a four day crop..... I am going to purchase a discount pass to my LSS to join in all the crops they have in 2013, I'll have to see what kind of a goal I can make in the New Year!

Greetings all! Since I have lots going on in December and met my yearly goal last month, I'm not going to set a page goal for December. I'm sure I'll do some challenges too, but I have lots of projects to finish up, so my goal is to get all the "loose ends" tied up in a nice bow by the end of the year! But Lela--please update my totals as per my siggy!

By the way everyone... Basic Grey has this post on Facebook, so if you're a FB user, you might want to "like" their post:

Okay, this was one of my worse years getting pages done but lots of photos taken. December is busy and we're traveling for the holidays so I'm not setting a goal. I'm hoping that I will get to do some digi pages at my mom's during the holidays but who knows. She has no internet so I won't be able to upload until we return. I know 2013 will be similar to this year so I need to figure out a system. Right now my craft room looks like a hurricane went through it so my first step is to clean it! :-) Our annual Cookie Exchange party is the 9th...now if I can only remember to take a picture, I've forgotten the past two years! :-)

I'm with Mary Pat, this was NOT a good year for scrapbooking. Oh well, something about a season for everything in life, and this was not the scrapbook season.
Anyway, I've updated my goals in my signature, and am no where near reaching my year goal but that's ok, I got SOME pages done and that's the important part, right? haha! I know I'll get two pages done to complete the calendar, we'll see about anything else. Happy December to everyone!

Lela and Sharon ... sending hugs and prayers your way for your moms.

November was not a great month for me … after getting back from California for my brother in laws funeral I was in fast and furious mode to get ready for Thanksgiving and having both boys and DILs here. Somewhere along the line I pulled my back but kept pushing through the pain. Finally last week went to the doctor and have been on Flexeril. These pills really wipe me out so for the past 4 days I have been asleep on the couch or in the recliner. Definitely need to get in gear and get son’s/DIL’s wedding album done.

Yes, I'll accept cheese to go with the whining!

I am going to make a goal of 15 pages. I know when I'm off for holidays later this month I will spend some time playing - maybe paper pages instead of just digital!!

I'm only 1 away from my yearly goal!!

Here is my first two pages for December. I have two more pages but the pictures I took were not good enough to post. I will have to try again during the day time when/if the sun is shinning.

A gift for you

I remembered to take photos while the sun is shinning! Much more realistic hues! My snowflake brads don't show up very well on one of the pages, but I liked the color and placement too much to change them. Plus I did not want to add any extra glitter.
I liked the title " Santa, Define "good" much better than the one I have seen this year that says "Naughty is the new nice". We just need as much "nice" in this world as we can get!

Define Good

Tis The Season

Now I have some very unflattering pictures of me left to scrap for this album. I am going to do them, I just don't have to like them!

Just got back from a 4-hour photography class. Visions of shutter speeds and ISOs are dancing in my head! Not sure if I absorbed anything, but it was sure interesting!

I loved my class too, but still feel slightly overwhelmed by it all!! Part of the issue is that I'm always trying to take photos in bad light places. If only every photo could be taken outdoors in perfect light of day ;)

Hang on to your hats....I actually scrapped tonight Or at least tried to...the new PSE11 is quite different and it took me a while just to put 3 papers on a blank file. Haven't figured out how to leave the layers in view while placing shadows on a layer. Hmmmm. Will have to explore some more! Went to save the page for the web and couldn't remember the settings for that either! Looks like it all worked but we'll see as we go along.

Digi Progressive Challenge Week 1

I almost forgot how to post the link it's been so long!

We just finished hanging our outside Christmas decorations so I'm hoping to work on the challenge tomorrow night or Thursday!

Thank goodness for step by step progressive layouts ;) You'll be an expert again in no time!

You did a great job no matter how long it took!

I think I am going to work on (start) my page tonight.......... Still can't decide which set of pictures I am going to use so I may start a second page once I see what other "goodies go into Santa's bag" for this challenge.

Good luck with your move. That will keep you out of the scrapping scene for a few months...... at least until you get your scrapping supplies unpacked.

This has definitely not been a good year for DH's family. Looks like we may be heading back out to California ... his mom (she has Altzheimer) is now in Hospice Care in the hospital.

This is not a new photo, but it is a new layout. I'm excited to print it and make it into a card!

Talking Scrapping Time

I'm C-O-U-N-T-I-N-G the days until I'm off on holiday break. I hope to get a good jump on getting all the work I need done for the class I'm taking finished up in the next week so when I'm OFF for the holidays it's all about FUN! (crafting)

I've been busy working on "partials" that are starting to stack up on the shelf. I figure if I get those done it will be a good December Scrap Goal as there are about 30

Hope everyone has some crafty time this weekend :o

Good for you! I'll have 2 days off before the holidays & 2 after that I am SO looking forward to that time. I hope I can get some pages done.

I've been looking at everyone pages...so creative. I finished getting ready for an overnight stay by DS2 & family. Coming today for our annual shopping trip then putting tree up with DGS tomorrow. Hopefully I can get back to scrapping next week so I can join the progressive challenge.

Warm Wishes Stitched Felt by 3Fries - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

Winter Memories by 3Fries - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

A break from scrapbooking to get some of the 75 cards I planned to make done! I finished the Winter Memories with the skates the other week, but I did the Warm Wishes Stitched Felt cards today. Fun! I will try to get another dozen cards done, maybe. Or I might just get a couple more page challenges done....

Hope everyone is getting a few crafty minutes this weekend!
