Yes, if its above freezing(with wind chill factored in) they go outside for recess. DS does wear a heavier coat for school when it gets that cold. He's still just wearing a jacket. Last year was unseasonably warm and Bbaby's jacket still looks brand new as she only wore it three times.

But I figure if the wind chill places it above freezing and the sun is out, that's warm enough to wear long sleeves and a heavy jacket rather than a bulky coat.
