I will finish up my Christmas cards today....YIPPEEEEEE.
I just have to buy another book of stamps while at the store and they will be ready to mail out. Just not sure if I should wait until atleast December to do it.
When do you mail yours out?

Mine went out on Tuesday....and some of my Christmas presents were mailed also. Next I have to finish wrapping and decorating the house...that I started on today.
Mine are done but I'm waiting until December 1st. One year I got them out right after Thanksgiving and had too many people comment on how I made them panic when my card arrived and they hadn't even starting thinking about Christmas yet.
I used to wait until December to make them, and would barely get them out in time to arrive by Christmas. Now I participate in the Christmas Card Challenge here at SCS and am finished making them in November. I actually got my November batch done early, so I'm going to spend the next week making sure my address list is current, signing them, and getting them ready to mail.

I think I've got until Dec 3 to get out the international addresses. I'm still working on my cards. They're a bit of a time commitment this year. At least the Christmas present shopping is done.
Depending upon the year, I try to have mine in the mail on December 1st. I always figure if I spend the time making cards, I'd like people to have the opportunity to enjoy them during the Christmas season. Other than that, mail away when you want to!
Oh gosh - I tend to leave mine later. I'll send international ones included in parcels by the advised date, and they always arrive way early. Cards on their own I'll send out later than the advised date because I know they'll still arrive on time. I wouldn't anticipate sending local ones out till at least the 10th Dec, probably even later. I don't like to start too early!
I'll be making mine this week and then sending next weekend. I usually like to get them out the first week in December. I don't like them to get there too early, but I don't like them last minute or late either.
I'm really hoping to get the international ones out by Dec. 3, then the U.S. ones in the week after that. There's a couple I'm hand-delivering when I'm in Montreal this week.
Sorry, I just think December 1 seems way early. One person sends her cards to us each year on that day, give or take a day, and that card comes way before any others. I don't have a magic day, but it's probably by the 10th and before the 15th. I'd hope to allow enough time to find out before Christmas that something came back as undeliverable.
Finland and Iceland go the middle of November, Europe the last week of November and the US, the first week of December...Hope to have the last ready to go this week...

Mine are all done and ready to go. Just might wait a week or two before sending them though.
I did however receive my first one in the mail yesterday. Seems a bit early but it was cute though.
My friend from high school does those photo cards each year. She had her two kids in the snow making snow angels and the card read, "Happy Holiday from our Angles to yours".

I have the picture decided on and that's it. I need to create the design and then make them. I'm hoping to be done and have them sent by the 12th or so.

First I have to figure out what I'm going to make, then I have to dig through my supplies, then I need to get motivated to make them, so ideally they will be mailed before Christmas. I usually get them out in mid December.
The sooner I get my cards out, the more I can concentrate on other things; like decorating, etc.
All depends where some of my cards are going. Some I put in the mail the day before Thanksgiving, some the weekend after Thanksgiving and all the rest go out the 1st. week of Dec.
If I take the time to make cards, I want people to enjoy them as long as possible.
I'm afraid I won't be making mine this year :< My life has been so hectic that last couple of months that I haven't had access to my toys until just yesterday and with everything else that needs to be done to get our FL house in shape, am fearful my Christmas cards won't be made, or else they'll be Valentine cards :>
Maybe some of you who have extras can just let me know and I'll send you the names and addresses where they should be sent and you can just sign my name :>
Mine mailed on Friday! LOL!!! My goal this year was to be the first card that arrived. Last year I waited so late that it seemed like I was sending out cards as I was getting them in and then I was afraid that it appeared like I was only sending a card cause I got one. So this year I wanted to be super early.
Don't feel bad Wanda. I had planned on not doing cards this year as I send all year long to Operation Write Home, and postage has gotten out of hand, but then my computer crashed and I lost all of my addresses so whether or not I changed my mind (like I did last year), I don't have addresses. Guess it was decided for me. Hope all of you have a great Christmas, and wonderful holidays.
Wow! I'm impressed by all you Dec 1st people! I never have them ready that early. Usually by about the 10th for me. For those of you who are panicking about not having them made in time, I've done SCS's Christmas Card Challenge for the last few years and make a few each month and then by December, they're all made.

Oh, that's horrible!!!! My DH is a techie and is religious about getting things backed up in case of a crash. I'd hate to think of what all I would lose if mine crashed without a backup.
Overseas went out Nov 10. I send others as I have time. A few went in mailbox yesterday. I don't send out a lot anymore. And for a few pen pals, I send postcards.
I usually send mine out on December 1st. I always work on my Christmas cards between Valentine's Day and Easter, so I don't have to panic at the last minute. My Christmas cards have been done since March Because I retired in January, I decided I wanted to make intricate cards this year because I had the time to do so; now I'm finding out they need extra postage.........URGH!!!!! Note to self, think about that one next time you think big!!!!

Oh, dear, last night I had a dream about going to the post office and finding forever stamps for the over the one ounce weight limit Christmas cards that need 65 cents worth of postage. Dreaming about it now! At least it wasn't a nightmare.
Well, since traditionally the 12 Days of Christmas actually start on Dec 25th, I am always "late" by some standards, but on time according to the Church calendar! LOL
I have tried, and flunked, the Christmas card challenge 3 years running. I make about 120 cards, so I want to make a dozen each month from Feb-Nov...I just rarely get the Christmas mojo going that early. I only have 3 dozen done, 2 other designs started. Will probably mail fewer this year

i've only recently made mine so i've got 25 made and 65 still to go. mine generally get posted on the last posting date which isn't clever as the post office is madness!!!
I'm with most of the majority... The first week in December. Although this year I'm in the middle of moving my craft room and most of it's ready but not my desk. I think I'm in the need of a card table for now

It may seem a little silly to some but my cards get into the mail the day before Thanksgiving, most arriving on the day after Thanksgiving. In some cases it helps to get the holidays started and get people motivated. I try to have them done by at least October, if they aren't then I start to panic.
Since I need so many Christmas cards for all the things I support, I make them all year as the mood hits me. Then I have a lot to choose from for my personal cards and the rest go to the various things I support.
blessings.
I haven't started mine but they'll go out before Christmas :-). I hope to get some done this weekend but if it doesn't happen, it's next weekend for sure. Once I get started, I get on a roll. I usually do 2-4 different designs but am fairly CAS so it's easy to assembly line them once I've got everything cut.

Two years ago mine got sent out in February but my DD was in the ICU for a week right before, she got out on Christmas Eve. This year my goal is the 15th.

Mailed mine today....YEAH! Usually I'm rushing to make sure they arrive before Christmas, but I decided that would NOT happen this year. So glad I don't have to seriously contemplate New Year's cards....

Wow! I sat down and did 4 specials (intricate and for BIL/SIL, MIL, Neice, Nephew) one extra AND 100 of my same card for everyone else, over the last 2 days. The specials took about 14 hrs total. The 100 took around 8 hrs. They are pretty CAS but had plenty of work in them.
Hope to get everything addressed and out in the next couple of days.
I was on a mission. Now on part two of getting them addressed, postage on and in the mail box!
oh and i have also decided that since they have a tiny rhinestone on the front I may need to buffer that with my envelope - thinking about using a ef on cheap cardstock and lining the envelope in front of it. Just about to weigh them to decide whether to take my chances. If it doesn't increase the postage I will be doing inserts to protect the cards/rhinestone.
Mine didn't get out on Dec 1st, after all. I needed to get a few addresses, and I cheat and print the addresses on label sheets so I wanted to have all of them. All 80 cards were mailed yesterday.
On that note, what's with people who move during the year and wait until Dec 22 to mail their cards (where they announce their new address)? I have an aunt and uncle who are notorious for doing this, so my cards are almost always going to the old address.
