WT403 - Bleach It Out (11/29/12)
Hello friends...It's Thursday and time for a new " Ways to Use It " challenge. It's been a lo-o-o-o-o-ong time since I've used bleach on a card. There are several bleach and faux bleach techniques in the tutorials...here are just a few...
Stamping With Bleach
Bleached Out Images
Colorless Blender Bleaching
Different card stocks bleach out differently making this technique a fun one. In my sample, the Smokey Shadow bleached out to a burgundy color, and the Scarlet Jewel bleached to a rust color. So your challenge today is to have fun using bleach or a Faux Bleach technique on your card or project. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Here are my Bleached Vintage Ornaments
Remember to use the Keyword WT403 on your project so we can see it in the gallery.
Here is the whole WT403 Bleach Gallery.
Need Help linking your card? Follow these instructions!
1. Open 2 windows: One window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

Bleaching is fun! I just bleached black and it was kind of pink. Will work on this tomorrow.

Oh, I am so going to try to find the time to play along after work. Last time I tried this it didn't even make it to a card and I've really been wanting to try again.

Bleach and I don't get along too well, but I decide to give it a go anyway, Cathy. Thanks for the challenge...a REAL one! : )

Ooo, not sure I have any bleach in the house. The last bottle got punctured somehow and slowly leaked out. I'll have to search out my bleach pen.

Hmm, three tries later and I only have one result that might even be possible to use. And it's a fresh bottle of bleach, too!

Thanks Cathy! Believe it or not this is a technique I hadn't tried until today. Really like the effect on paper!

WT403 Bleached Get Well
Cathy- a good challenge for me- I wound up using Ranger oil ink blender solution with a Ranger black ink background and brushed on the blender over a CM cup stencil with heat tendrils in the image. I thought SU's Lots of Bots worked well here.
Here's Bleached Get Well

WT403 Bleached Leaf
Cathy- thought I would give it another whirl- used my Delta leaf stencil this time, along with this sentiment from SU, stamped, then crumpled the paper and applied green ink. Here's Bleached Leaf
