I was just at AC Moore picking up a few things and noticed they have these markers 6 in a pack at $14.99, it says they are alcohol markers.Has anyone seen these or used them. I have just started to pick up a few Copic (2) these would be so much more in my budget, especially if you can use a coupon. I think they had about 7 or 8 different sets.
If they are Spectrum Noir, I have them and like them. I think they compare very favorably to Copics. They have a firmer tip, so if you are hooked on the brush tips of Copics, they are different.

I have them and really like them! I've never used copic - because they were so exorbitantly expensive I never dared to go near them so I can't compare.
I've been using them with Crafter's Companion CS and love them!
I really like my copics, the few that I have. But a friend of mine has the noirs and let me try them. I was impressed with them. For me the shape was a bit difficult to get used to, but I thought they colored and blended very well and am now thinking of getting them. I am no expert on using them though, I just dabble, but again liked them alot.
Oh Amber, you are going to love the acrylic storage it is awesome! I did the straight stack and just unloaded it and am now trying the off-set! Love it!!!

Was just at my local AC Moore and they had these markers (6 packs) on sale for $7.88 and then the coupon for this evening only for an extra 25% off! To bad I already have all the 6 pack colors, but my friend bought 2 packs!
here is a stupid question (maybe) the link Bugga posted has them in sets of colors (pinks, blues, greens etc) and pastel, lights, and brights
are they different markers (different tips) or just packaged differently. I assume you don't get the full range of a color with pastel, lights and brights.
They are all different! Between the original 12 6pks, 4 of the 24pks, there is NO duplication of colors!...
The 12 6pks are for starting your Spectrum Noir collection...It gives you complementary colors in groups, then you can add the 24 packs of Brights, Pastels, Darks and Lights to complete the set...
They also have replacement nibs and refills for all colors...

SuG, here is a link to a page with info about how the colors are shaded and work with each other. Scroll down a bit to read:
thanks Karen that is what I thought, but I didn't want to send my hubby off to buy them for me for christmas and ask for the wrong thing. It sounds like getting the 6 packs in all the colors is what to ask for to start.
