I'm taking a break from coloring 30 images for my Christmas cards, lol. And wanted to ask:
Those who use alcohol markers, like Copic, Spectrum Noir, etc. Do you ever use the broad end nib? I find myself using the fine point end when I color, and have only used the broad end when the fine one ran out of ink.
If you do use the broad end nib, how and when do you use it in coloring images?

I use it if I have a larger area to colour and I like using it when I'm putting the shadow around my image down. For some reason (and I know its only in my mind) I find it seems to blend better on the shadow layer using the broad tip.
I never use the broad tip (chisel tip) unless I'm using the palette technique... never! lol.. If you're using Copic markers you shouldn't have the "running out of ink" problem with one tip unless the entire marker is out of ink. the ink will always transfer to the end that you're using - if you've run out of ink that means it's refill time!

I design for: Stampendous!, There She Goes, Technique Tuesday,
SRM Stickers and Deconstructed Sketches.
I use the chisel end for covering large areas when colouring backgrounds, especially if I want to lay down colour quickly and am not worried about perfect blending (i.e. if I am going to layer on top or use a technique such as sprinkling with blender solution to create bubble effects etc).
I use the broad tip to color my Hug Snug seam binding, to make my own twine and to color the labels I use on the back of my cards. (I designed my own logo and print it on tiny return address labels instead of stamping on the backs of my cards. Saves me a lot of time!)

I don't use it at all so I remove the broad tip and replace it with a different nib that I will use. And, I keep them well hydrated - if they squeak when you use them, they need more drops of refill!
