With all the stores rolling out their "Pre-Black Friday" sales and the bad experience many people have had in the last few years with stores advertising things and only having a couple of them on hand , I wonder if the Black Friday sales will meet the stores expectations ?

WalMart is selling "guarantee" cards for some of their hot tech items. But other than that, I've always been perplexed at what sells out-- never anything I want, and everything I do want always seems to still be in stock at 10 in the morning.
Of course, that probably says more about me than it does the store. ;)
Most stores advertise Black Friday Door Busters to lure customers in. Typically, they are in very limited quantities and many times are not high quality products. It's been years since I went out on Black Friday....back when most stores opened ON Friday, not forcing their employees in on Thanksgiving....but it wasn't very often I found things I would really give as a gift, let alone keep for myself.
Just be careful of what you are getting!!

I don't like crowds and think there is a value to my time, plus shopping is not a hobby for me. I avoid Black Friday. I have yet to see a "deal" that's worth my time and the stress involved.
Last year I noticed some places had fantastic sales (on-line) the day before, and during, Thanksgiving.

I went Black Friday shopping once with my sister and brother-in-law and that was enough to last me for the rest of my life LOL !!! I spent most of the time standing at their van in the parking lot waiting for them to finish hours and hours of shopping. Local television camera crews were in the store - it was a ZOO!!!

i LOVE black friday shopping BECAUSE of the insanity - it has always been a sort of morbid fascination for me and kicks me into christmas mode. i have never stood in line for one of the OMG deals though. however this year i may skip it for the first time in over a decade. i don't like all the stores opening the night before and stuff......plus i don't really need anything.....who knows though. i may not be able to resist venturing out come friday morning!
I used to shop on Black Friday and had a blast. I am saddened by companies opening on Thanksgiving though, as some of my relatives have to work and it is really frustrating to me. I feel like I will shop, but I just don't have the excitment this year. I have all the stamping stuff I need except for adhesive, so for me, I don't have to shop for myself. The few things I would like I put on a wish list. If I get them, great, if not, I will buy them after the holiday.
My sister and I always go Black Friday shopping. I am not thrilled with everything opening on Thanksgiving. And I am not sure there are any stores opening at that time that I HAVE to go to. We haven't made our list yet so we are still undecided. I am thrilled at some of the online sales I have seen already!
This year is the first time I am considering it. We have 2 girls getting ready to leave the nest and there are some things we would like to get for them to help them get started. Buying for 2 is always a challenge financially and as they get older, the things they want/need get a little more expensive. Right now we are planning on going to WM Thursday night to pick up 2 TV's...hoping that with the gaurantee we will still be able to get them even if they happen to run out quickly. Wish me luck!!!

I loathe and despise "shopping" (as in going to the mall or wherever and wandering about looking for things to buy) at ALL times, so there is not a single deal out there that will tempt me to join the fray! Last year I took advantage of a couple of online Black Friday sales (Kraftin' Kimmie and an online stamping store - don't remember which one now) and got a few things from the comfort of my home. I'm more interested in Small Business Saturday, where we shop small local businesses to support them!
I'm trying to decide if I want to go out Thanksgiving night or not. Kohls has $15 for every 50 you spend starting at midnight.
ACMoore has 40% off nonsale items from 5am to 11 or 1. Joanns has 25% off everything including clearance and sale (not doorbusters) Michaels ad wasn't enticing, but I haven't seen the real thing yet, that may change.
Small business Sat, I'll check out the lss, they're closed Thurs and Fri.

You couldn't pay me enough to go out in all that mess! I am not a shopper anymore. I used to love it all now when I go shopping I know what I am going for. Get it and get out. Now I do like to go antiquing. That's different!!
Considering how many close calls I've had in the past two days from distracted drivers and those clearly unfamiliar with the area, I think that's all the more reason to stay home for the rest of the day today, and all day tomorrow. If I was a cat, I'd have used up about 4 of my lives in just the past 24 hours. :(

I can relate...from about a week ago until January 2nd, driving in my town is horrible. I prefer to stay home as much as possible and just use what is in my room (or order online.) It's just not worth it.

I think I have an idea where you live. ;)
