Default Stamping on Transparencies

Hi everyone!

I am trying to make some transparencies for inclusion in my December Daily album. So far I have stenciled some with acrylic paint, and stamped on some with Stazon Forest Green.

The kind of transparency I have is the laser printer kind. I ran out of the ink jet kind and I can only find it in huge packages (I only need a few sheets). The ink jet type has a rough side that I think makes it more receptive to ink than the laser type, which is smooth.

My question is: I'd like to stamp some snowflakes in a metallic silver color. I know Stazon has that color. But can you recommend another ink that might work on plastic? Stazon is a bit pricey and I can't seem to find it at my local big box scrapbook stores in the silver.

I'm looking for an opaque ink, not tottally transparent. If that's possible!

Thank you very much!

You could try heat embossing. The laser transparencies can take heat.

Tsukineko Brilliance will set on transparencies, just give it time or a blast of warmth (hair-dryer rather than heat gun, say). I don't have a silver but I have a gold so I am betting they do a silver too, and the cost of one of the small teardrop shaped pads wouldn't set you back much.
And as Vic says, laser or coper transparencies can take enough heat to successfully heat emboss them, using Versamark and silver EP.

Thanks! I ended up getting Stazon Metallic Silver. I did try heat seting some Brilliance and it does work with the heat gun. I should try the hair dryer. The heat gun makes me nervous! :(

Oh, I was pretty sure it would work with the heat gun. I just prefer to use the lower heat from a hairdryer in case it warps the copier acetate, even the heat-safe acetate. Have fun with your project.
