I was going to suggest Virginia because of all the historical places but you've been here.
How about Tennessee, you can visit The Hermitage, the Graceland ( Elvis Presley) house, Grand Ole Oprey,the Blue Ridge mountains and parkway.
Texas to visit the Alamo and many other sights.
