Default Color Box ink (old stock)

I ordered from ebay some Color Box ink. When the product came, it was sealed, but the ink pad is discolored and does not give a good impression. It is very light, like it is dried out. It looks like it is old. I contacted the seller and was sent another one. This one is the same way, not a good stamping. I believe this ink may be old stock. The box cover is solid black plastic with a label on the top the color of the ink. Everything I have bought in Color Box ink in the last year or so comes with a clear cover, so you can actual see the ink pad. Does anyone know when Color Box might have changed their cover??? I believe the seller has a batch of old stock. I have asked for a full refund.

thanks
Karen

I don't know about the change, but you could try a product from Ranger called Ink Refresher. I know its saved quite a few older pads that went dry on me. Its pretty inexpensive and if it works, will save you a lot of money from replacing the ink pads - particularly those ones that don't have re-inkers.

Is it their new dye ink or is it the pigment? I think the dye ink comes with a solid cover while the pigment still comes with a clear cover. I've noticed the newer CB pigment pads seem to be a little smaller than they used to be (the spongy part).

I have some Colorbox Archival ink and those covers are a solid black cover. I just recently bought some Colorbox Chalk inks and a few of the ones i bought were bone dry. I contacted Colorbox and explained to them how dry my new chalk inks were, and they sent me replacements for the colors that were dried out. I would contact them and explain your problem, they were fantastic when i talked to them.
