Exclamation Measuring Please help

Hi, Ladies
Can someone please me on this? Ok. I have a Tonic Cutter 12 x12 love it. I am making a 6 x 6 card and a 5.50. I would like thin layers 1/16 for the 6x6 card, and 1/8 for the 5.50. My layers are not correct?

Does anyone know what correct measurements would be?
6x6 - Making 4 layers -1st layer,2nd layer, 3rd layer, 4th layer
5.50- Making 4 layers-1st layer,2nd layer, 3rd layer, 4th layer

Thanks so much

Its a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it really is simple.

For the 6x6 card: 1/16 border - you would cut each layer 1/8" smaller than the previous layer (2 x 1/16) So 6x6, 5 7/8 x 5 7/8, 5 3/4 x 5 3/4, 5 5/8 x 5 5/8, 5 1/2 x 5 1/2

For the 5.5 card: each layer would be 1/4" smaller than the previous (2 x 1/8 ).
5.5 x 5.5, 5.25 x 5.25, 5 x 5, 4.75 x 4.75

Hope that helps.
