Shoebox Project Information:
This is the only mandatory part of the day which will take place first on our schedule
**Please have your shoebox completely prepared and ready to go when you arrive for the gathering. Unfortunately, I have had complaints in past years of people not having their shoebox projects ready for their tablemates to work on, making this reminder necessary. If you don't arrive with a completed and ready to go shoebox project, your tablemates are not obligated to allow you to do the project they have prepared. Prepared means having all of the elements of your pre planned project prepared and ready for your tablemates. Tossing a bunch of random supplies on the table and instructing people to "create whatever they would like" is not acceptable. Please be considerate of others and extend the courtesy of having your shoebox project ready when you arrive. Thanks!!**
*Your shoebox project can be anything stamped*
• If you are making a card, we will make FULL cards using at least one embellishment (ribbon, brads, buttons, etc).
• Quality CS is a MUST!
• Please have all card pieces pre-cut.
• Please bring stamps or other items for your project
• Please include instructions (aka: recipes), tips and any other important information.
• Please bring four extra completed shoe box projects. You will use one as your sample at your table, two for hostess gifts and one for a door prize.
• You may make other projects keeping in mind it should not take more than 10-12 mins to complete.
• We estimate having approx. 8 people at each table and will give final numbers when we have a final count.
Swaps
Marsie is our swap hostess. You can also feel free to email her at the gathering email and I will forward it to her. Please follow the requirements below and if you are joining the SU only, please use only current SU products. Please note that if you sign up for a swap and do not fulfill your commitment, you will not receive any swaps from the others in your group.
We will have 7 swaps:
1. Card front – SU only
2. Card Front – NVR
3. 6x6 recipe swap
4. 6x6 scrapbook (2 page layout)
5. ATC – Artist Trading Card
6. 3D Item swap
7. Rolodex card swap (card size will be 4 x 2 5/8 – the same size as the SU!/Sizzix Big Shot die)
Swaps are not mandatory – you may participate in as few or as many as you would like. Please remember to showcase your best work using quality products. You must use at least two layers and one embellishment on each swap – thanks!!
Handmade Gift Exchange
We will exchange handmade gifts. Please be sure that your gift is handmade and something to do with paper crafting. Please do not bring a non paper crafted gift. For those wishing to participate, please bring a handmade gift with a value of approx. $5.00. Please be sure your gift is wrapped with your name so the person who receives it knows who to thank!!
Donations
We are going to be donating cards to the Journey Home Hospice this year. Please read about their organization here:
They are in need of thank you cards and general use cards only. Due to the nature of their organization, cards such as birthday, get well, new baby, wedding and those for specific holidays (which could not be used as thank you cards) etc. are not needed. If possible, it would be helpful to donate an envelope with your card. We will again have a special prize drawing for anybody who donates cards to this cause. Just an FYI – their logo is a butterfly!!
We are also having a 2nd special prize drawing for anybody who donates something for the Journey Home’s wish list:
Journey Home Wish List
Stamps
Large Rubbermaid Containers
Paper Goods- paper towels, toilet paper and tissues
Antibacterial Liquid Soaps
Hypoallergenic Baby Wipes
Wegmans, Sams and OfficeMax Gift Cards
Tall Kitchen Garbage Bags
Small Garbage Bags
Lysol- Spray
Swiffer Wet Jet Refills-Floor and Dusters
Kitchen Clorox cleaner
Windex
Snacks & Diet & Regular Soda
Post it Notes
HE only, Detergent with Bleach
Sponges
Napkins
Colored Paper for Copier
Paper Clips, Tape, Pens and Pencils
You will receive 2 tickets for the drawing for the first item off of the list that you donate. Anybody donating 2 items or more will receive 4 tickets for each item donated!!
The reason that we have chosen Journey Home as the recipient of our donations is because of the incredible work they do. I have a personal friend, Kim Lucas, who volunteers there – not only does she volunteer there, but her Mother passed away there as well. It is truly an amazing place for people to be able to live out their last days. When Kim’s mom was there, there were gracious enough to let my sister use their kitchen to make to make a home made fettuccini alfredo dinner for several people with no questions asked as their goal is for everybody to feel like they are at home – patients as well as guests.
Hope to see you all at the gathering!
Lauri and Marsie

We will do a Secret Sister again this year if there is interest. There will be information forms at the registration table for those wishing to participate.
We decided as a group last year that the minimum secret sister requirements are as follows:
-a card on her birthday
-one card for each season (winter, spring, summer, fall)
-a papercrafted gift with a $5 value at the reveal at next years gathering
We want to keep it simple, so please feel free to do as much as you want, but above would be the minimum.
If you have a Secret Sister from last years gathering, please don't forget to bring her a papercrafted gift as stated above for our reveal!!

Last year we did the garage sale thing for the first time and, much to my dismay, there were issues with theft. If any of you would like to bring garage sale items, please feel free, but at your own risk. If there is enough of an interest and somebody would like to coordinate a schedule to monitor the items for sale, please let me know.
UNWANTED/UNLOVED EXCHANGE:
Please see post #29 for details on this!!! If you have any questions, please contact Pat, SCS name Scraphead
Thanks.

Sign me up, please Lauri. I am sure that Ina will be in too, but I'll let her confirm. I would like to sign up for the SU card front and 3D swaps, as well as the gift exchange. I may add to that later but for now I will commit to those.
Could you post a pic of the baby? I'd love to see him and your avi is pretty small.
So excited, Lauri! Please put my name on the list. Love the location...our ladies group spent many happy years there. Hopefully we might get a chance to meet your handsome little Evan..we'd love that!!
I almost forgot!!! If you have special dietary needs, please annotate that on your registration form and shoot me an email. Marsie is handling the meal and I will find out from her what options we have.

Sure! Would you please post here about it so folks know what it is?? Thanks!!
Hi guys, if you would like to join the "Unwanted/unloved" swap what it is is a medium 1st class mailing box (free from the post office) fill it with all the things you just had to have and never used, or you have 2 of the same thing, things that you have been meaning to use but have sat on the shelf unloved.
Please fill the box with stamping items or items that can be used for stamping, no paper filler or pea nuts.
let me know if you would like to join, you can have more than 1 box if you wish, you will take as many home as you bring, you lose nothing, and may gain things you will use in return.
There is no money value, so you may put a more costly item than you receive but it will be a full box.ju
Please do not write your name on the box large, just put your initials really small on the top, so I can cover this with a # that way your can look if the box your pick is your own, only then can you change it.

That sounds fun, Could you put me down for the unwanted/loved swap. I will have to pick up a box when I come down for the gathering but that shouldn't be a problem. Canada Post doesn't provide shipping boxes for us. I will say one for now but lord knows I could probably fill two with no problem. lol Does anyone have an idea what the dimensions for a medium box are?

The med. flat rate box is about 8.5" wide x 11.25" long x 5.5" deep.

Hi Meliass
I will put you down for 1, if you bring 2 thats not a problem
I see Arlene has given measurements, so if you can get a box from the grocery store with these measurements that will work too.
