September 2012 Scrap Pages & Scrap Chat - sbc12sep
Scrappin' Challenge 2012
Can you believe this is our 4th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009, 2010 & 2011 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2012! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2012! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for February. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for this month, if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
*In this thread, we'll track how we do for the month. Look HERE to share and track your Annual Goals. *
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund!
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2012 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
(Pssst...in case you're interested in the "history", here's the thread that started it all 4 years ago...
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc12sep"

I barely made my goal for August, but I did make it......... so I think I will put down 10 for the month of September as I am on a slight roll with my scrapping. I plan on picking up speed during October.....
Good scrapping everyone!

Well I have been VERY sick 10 days in bed and 15 pounds lighter I am starting to feel a bit better. This is only the 2nd time I have been up and around and just being up for a few has gotten the better of me. I did not make my goal for Aug and I don't think I will set one for Sept. I am not sure how this is all going to work out with my RA and no immune system..........hopefully I will be back feeling better in a week or so but not sure when I will scrap again... hopefully soon. Well I am off to bed again. Even using a lap top makes me dizzy. Keep smiling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna make my goal for September 4. Unless I get them done next week, I may not get anything done with everything going on with DH. He's going to be gone the 2nd week of Sept for a tool show in Chicago.

YIKES! That would be record setting for me but I'm soooooooo far behind my goal that I'm going to do it...anyone with me???? :-))

I'm with ya ... I've always been envious when Cheryl does the "L.O.A.D". I was thinking about doing one in October but if you want some company for doing L.O.A.D during September I'll join ya ...unfortunately I'll be a week behind as I won't be home until Friday but I can get caught up this weekend.
I made my scrap goal in August but I've really got to get started on older pictures ... Time to start getting older books done

Patti, I didn't realize you were so sick! I sure hope you start getting better soon. But, take care. Do you need someone to post your challenges for a few weeks? Let us know!
Mary Pat and Lela--I'm impressed with your commitment to the 30 day load--I'm with sewflake--I know my limits! Good luck to you guys and Cheryl!
Lela--I got 19 pages done in August--5 pages over my goal of 12! I'll shoot for 15 pages this month. Thanks!

Inspiration Challenge
I put on this week's Inspiration Challenge early, because I have been having major internet problems. I thought I would do it while I am on. I might have a virus, but hope I got rid of it. (a computer virus, I mean) :(
Anyway, I hope you will play this week, at least check it out, because it is a little bit different. Here is Counting 1 2 3

Great Scraplift MP, that's a fun idea for this challenge, I'll have to use that as well. I lined up some sketches also to help me get caught up this weekend :o
I'll be home Friday and ready for a scrappy weekend! I'm actually here in FL (MP) moving my Mom over to Tampa area into Senior Community. It's been alot of work getting her packed but tomorrow I'm going to hang blinds/curtains and pictures in her new place. I leave Tuesday for Memphis for work for a few days.

Here are the first two for this month.
Work or Play
Now I am going to start working on a couple of pages for Sharon's Inspiration challenge, counting. Who knows, maybe I can keep going and end up with a page for every day this month. If not then I will finish my goal for September early.

I am going to try and keep up to date on commenting this month. As soon as I post a page I am going to comment on all the layouts posted since MY last posting.
Commenting has a way of getting away from me when I don't take a little time every couple of days. I see some newish faces in the gallery.......... Great work everyone!

Sharon, for that Asian Accents border, did you have to cut two of them and attach them together on the left? The border isn't 12", is it?

Starting the month off on the right foot, three pages completed :-). Here is a dps I finished up last night. The coloring looked fine when I saved it but they seem a bit off on SCS...must be screen vs. computer, oh well! TFL:

I bought a 12" platform for my Big shot which helped me keep it level but it can easily be done with the regular platform.
I cut the Asian Accent Border, it does not cut though the paper on one end. I removed the 9" die and moved it down to the end of cut piece and lined it up to continued cutting to make a 12" piece. I did turn the paper around to run it through from the other end. I did what the directions say not to do!!! I ran the strip through the Big Shot part way then backed it out before it came to the area on the end that cuts through the paper. It was easy to do, well I say easy, the hardest part was taking the die off the cut paper. Just remove the die slow and easy. Next time I will use wax paper to lubricate my die before cutting paper.

...well...I am NOT quitting my day job to do "windows"! By 0100 I was sick of blinds/curtains and window treatments last night but every window in her new house is covered. My Mom has a TON of china so we had to move all that too ... at least my son didn't have "breakables", LOL! I even managed to snap a few pictures  All good ... the Movers can do the rest!

I haven't been able to hang out on the computer much. Seems August got away from me in the scrapbooking area too. DD has been sick, spent 4 days in the hospital and lots of doctor appointment, etc lately.
So, since I can't see as positive of a September for scrap time, my goal will be 5 pages for the month. I'll calculate what this means for the year later.
Here is my first page for September.

Wendy, I just took a look at the Aisan Accent board, it does cut at both ends.......... hmmmmm I must have run it through the big kick almost to the other end, then remove and replaced the die along the edge of my paper and run it through the BK from the other end stopping both times before coming to the end. They say to not go backwards on the BK, I don't know why  as it works when you want to cut a long strip.
