Default Other than flowers, favorite dies to make embellishments?

Hello!

I'm thinking of getting a big shot. Just wondering what your favorite dies are to make embellishments? I like the Tim holtz flowers and tag ones. There are so many what are your favorites?

I love the rosette dies- and suitable for male or female cards, whereas its not so easy to get away with flowers on a male card, lol.Tim has a nice flourish die too. Some of the Cheery Lyn butterflies are great too, and of course the Nesties. I do like the Persian Motif one.

I love my tags, Hello Kitty, flowers, butterflies, dragonfly, buttons, scallops, seashells, postage stamps & scallops. I have a few small Sizzlet dies I love that are purses, food, drink glasses, etc I use all the time. I have a couple of alphabets I use to make my own Thickers or other alpha embellishments.

And don't forget border dies. I use borders frequently.

Love delicate flourishes, especially those from Memory Box, including ones for corners or as borders and some in the form of leaves and branches.

Oh thanks for the ideas!

Rosettes, make your own thickers (love that, so obvious I didn't even think if it), the pretty borders and flourishes....off to make a wish list! and look at memory box. So far I've been looking at sizzix only.

Gypsyrose, LOVE this card. How clever to combine the dies with the inked embossing (faux letterpress or whatever name that technique going by now, LOL). TFS

I am a huge fan of making your own embellishments!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my big shot!!! I am a huge fan of Stampin' Up framelits! I think I have all of them!!!! You can check out my blog for some framelit ideas.
I love the new wonderfall die to make leaves with. I will be having a blog post on them soon!

I don't think you will regret a big shot at all! Embossing folders are a great layer to your pages or cards!!! You really can't go wrong!!!

I got a Big Shot after Christmas and left it in the box for months. After I finally found the time to play with it - that's it, I'm hooked! Besides using all the basic shapes Nesties, I love all the border dies. I love the love of the stamped images that you then die cut. Have many memory box dies - very reasonably priced. Have a little bird, banner, tulips, fence, and of course the window and the door. I only buy dies for something i feel I would use frequently. If it's a one time need, i'll just cut by hand

I love my embossing folders but for starter dies, I would recommend buying some basic shape Spellbinders Nestabilities (circles, scallops and ovals) because of the versatility. I also love the Beautiful Butterflies die fom Stampin Up and just about all of the Memory Box/Poppy Stamps dies. I've just recently been introduced to Memory Box and love how delicate and detailed they are and because they are fairly inexpensive (more so in the US than in Canada) and have a ton to choose from, I was able to expand my embellishment options quickly. Happy shopping!

I like the pet charms by MFT, the ice cream and hearts by PTI and flourishes by Marianne, thread spool and dress form by Tim Holtz. PTI actually has a ton. I could drop hundreds of $s on them and still want more!

I am addicted to dies...Nesties, Memory Box, Poppy, Cheery lynn Design and Marianne Design dies to name a few and I LOVE pretty butterfly dies. MY favorite cutter is the Big Shot and if you are just getting started....be prepared to fall in love... and to spend some money! You think you have all you need and then there is a new release with more amazing dies you can't live with out. I used to be a clothes horse...I'd give up something new to wear for a new die any day of the week now.... how sad is that??? But I must admit my passion for stamping/creating brings me far more joy than any piece of clothing I ever bought.

And so the love affair begins!!! Enjoy....
