I'm posting this in August since that's when I need it. This is the book card I made for my boss's retirement. She's been the library director for 30 years. The card has plenty of room for lots of signatures. It's going to get passed around to the city and county buildings. It was a little time consuming but I'll definitely make more of these in the future. The next ones should go quicker now that I know what I'm doing.
Here is my first one for August, for my BIL's birthday. Also it is for DTGD challenge!
I have done 2 DTGD challenges today and a VSBN challenge! Have more to do!
If you want to scrap come play VSBN. And if you want to do cards, join the fan club and come do the "Christmas" of challenges DTGD! ( our gift for being in the Fan Club)

One more done for August. I still have a belated birthday card to make (I really need to pay attention to dates better), an anniversary card, and 2 more birthday cards. All but one needs to be done by the 10th. Maybe I'll find time to do my Christmas cards for June, July and August. I'm not going to count on it.
I've got a couple of days at home before we go to Yellowstone and the Tetons for vacation. I've gotten to make a few cards for Dare To Get Dirty and other challenges!
My entry for Flourishes BBB; There I s Always Hope
July's Fan Club Theme: Enjoy A Glass!
A birthday card for a wounded soldier: Cheery Cherry Birthday
An all-occasion card: Poppies
I've got a few hours so I'm off to do more!

Here's my last three cards for Dare To Get Dirty, before I'm off on vacation!!!
A card for my son
The next two are not my best but, they fit the requirements and I'm in a hurry. Sew
One of my son's friends lost both of his legs when he stepped on an IED in Afghanistan . He's got a long road to recovery so I'm trying to send him a card a week. Here's this week's card.
Debbie I would certainly drop in on you!!! You could show me that Silhoutte.;) We're going to do some hiking in the parks. I'm a little worried about the bears. I've read it's Grizzlies 6 - hikers 0 for the summer. Since I'm the slowest one in our group, my husband is calling me Bear Snack.:(

Dianne, make someone walk behind and in front of you and let them be the bear snack. I really haven't heard about bear attacks this year like they were last year.
Is it August already?!!! Looks like this is going to be another busy card month for me. I needed a Sympathy card right off, but I used one from my stash which is quickly being depleted. Have to make some more.
A good friend is in the hospital so I made and mailed him a card yesterday as my first August card.
I've already sent one birthday card, but it was also from my stash. I've got at least 8 more birthday cards. The next one is August 5th, so I better get busy!

So sad about your son's friend. I'm sure your cards brighten his day.
I'm watching for your return. You are awfully sweet and we know how bears have their sweet tooth ;-)

And I'm caught up for August! I'm hoping this will keep me on track this week. I hate not commenting on your cards sooner. Here's to a better 2nd half of the year!

I like the idea of building up my stash of get well cards so thanks for the challenge, Kelly. But I didn't use the colours you challenged us to use as I was trying to do some of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges. So here's what I came up with:
Love your cards, ladies. I'm working on the retirement guest book today. Ran into a couple glitches with cutting files, but I winning now. I have the covers done. Now for the inside pages. Most of that will involve typing phrases onto different labels. A little more time consuming that I like, but it's well worth it. I want to finish the book tonight if possible so I can help DS move into his new apartment all day tomorrow. I'm kicking myself for procrastinating. When will I learn?
Debbie, I don't know if you'll ever learn not to procrastinate as I sure haven't. How many late nights have I spent getting something done at the very, very last minute??!
I made two cards for my S.S. ladies last night (late) but am pleased with how they turned out. These are the first cards made with the Stampscapes stamps my dd gave me for my birthday.
I worked all day on the guest book. I'm close to being done. I realy tried to get it done before bed, but not going to happen. There's not much rhyme or reason to most of the pages. I just grabbed a precut page, one of the phrases I typed and went from there. I'm trying to use up some of my bling, too. You can tell what pages I started with and the ones I made as it got later in the day/night. Less stuff on the ones I did tonght. I can't put too much on any of the pages because people do have to sign the book. I just hope I have enough pages. There's room for close to 300 signatures, I think. My boss is a very well-loved person in the community.
I finally finished the guest book. I'll have to wait until morning to take pictures. I am so glad I invested in the Cinch to finish this project. The hardest part of the project was coming up with a title for each page. Never again will I put off making a project like this until almost the last minute. Now I have a couple days to relax until the retirement party.
I finally got the guest book pictures taken and uploaded. I should have taken the time to crop each one, but I just wanted to get it done. I took it to work with me and showed my coworkers and we decided to let the boss see it today. We wanted to see her reaction to it. She loved it. Be warned, there's a lot of links.
Thank you, Susan. It was a lot of work, but it was worth every single minute. Even though Bonnie is the Library Director (until tomorrow) she never thought of herself as our boss but as our coworker.
I only have 4 birthdays this month and one card has already been sent from last month's stash.
This is for my niece. TLC389 At the beach by yellowrose46 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
I'm looking forward to seeing all the pages of your book Debbie, but I won't have time this week as I am being hostess to a Splitcoaster from Australia......Stephanie (tropduck)

Kelly, I posted thank you for my package in the July thread, but I think you might not have seen it. But I did get it! Thank you so much! My DH was jealous I got a goodie envelope! I had so much fun going thru it and looking at it! I love how you put it all together, the little packs of ribbon, and flowers. It is like Christmas to a crafter! Now I have to start using the goodies! I have been sending cards out of my stash to people at church. I have been so busy with DTGD challenges and now have more pages for VSBN which have to be done a week from today. Hopefully I will get caught up. Does that ever happen?
Sharon, caught up??? I've been trying to that for the last couple months. I'm beginning to think it's not going to happen before the end of the year, but I'm not going to stop trying. My big projects are done so now I can concentrate on the things I want to do. Like building up my stash of cards. It might be a good idea to start on Christmas presents right now. I think I'm going to make a book for my dad to put the great grandkids' pictures in. That one won't be as time consuming as the guest book I just made, maybe.
I left everyone love on their beautiful cards! Wasn't the Dare To Get Dirty challenges fun? I wished I could have played more.
I had a great four days of vacation. I did lots of backcountry hiking and I even made it to the top of Inspiration Point in the Tetons. I was the only old, fat, grandma that made it up there!! Many started the steep, long climb...but few finished!;)
I came back to a very busy week at work so I didn't get back here until today. I just finished all the dirty, stinky, laundry from hiking/camping, cleaned my house, watered all my flowers and mowed. I'm ready to go make cards for the evening!!!
Kelly - I'm starting with your challenge! Then I have to make 10 cards for the swap at club.

Here's my card for Kelley's challenge. Get Well
This was the only card I got done this weekend. The day before my son leaves for college, he suddenly remembers he needs me to cut out tons of for stuff for him with my Cricut. He needs stuff for bulletin boards as he is an RA for a dorm. Yeah, that wasn't fun.

Typical of a guy, Dianne. Loved the card. You got more done than I did. I sat down at my computer earlier today and decided I had way too much junk on my computer so started to clean it up. All I got done was putting the links from my favorites onto a flash drive. Of course, I had to look at each link to decide if I wanted to keep it or delete it. I didn't realize there were so many.
Hi everyone, all is quiet here again as my son went home last friday, we had a great time with them but its take all my energy to get straight as its been baking hot, apparently weve had a heatwave, who can tell here in August but saturday was unbearable, we even had a small tornado, the wind was so hot it was like standing in front of the oven.
I keep looking at the pile of ironing but I cant motivate myself, must get on with my cards though, only two for august but I havent even started august christmas cards yet.
I hope to get some cards done this week. First I need to finish the laundry and get back into my routines. I've just had a fabulous visit with Stephanie and her family. They spent the weekend here and every minute was busy. I think they packed lots into their brief time here. They attended the Scottish Festival here in Fergus (we got rained on!) They went to the Waterloo Farmer's market, took a horse drawn carriage ride through the maple sugar bush that Stephanie went to when she was in school. Shopping at the outlet mall, a walking tour of the Mennonite town of St. Jacobs, attending my church on Sunday and a walk through the Elora Gorge Park where we watched people taking tube rides through the rapids of the Grand River. Stephanie, her husband and her son are so personable and easy to talk to and I feel I have made friends for life (even if I never see them again). They are wonderful Christians....kind, gentle, generous, smart, good looking, well travelled, and I loved hearing their Aussie accent!

That's awesome, Ina. I love that Aussie accent, too.
It's been pretty warm here all summer. However, right now it's only 62 F here. I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. The forecasted high for today is 91. We really need the rain. So if anyone has some to spare, please send it my way.
