Talking DGSC071 Using Stamp Brushes - 7/10/12

DGSC071 Using Stamp Brushes - 7/10/12
________________________________________

I love to use stamp brushes on my digital pages. I especially love that I can make the image any size I want to compliment my design. This weeks digital challenge is simple once again, but hopefully will encourage you to try a few new things with your digital scrapbooking program!

On your page use a large stamp brush image in your background. Choose only one photo, mat it if you like. Use smaller stamped images as your embellishment. Thats it!! Dont forget your journaling!

Technique I used in MDS matting a photo and adding a shadow: Often I like to mat my photo using a slightly larger photo box, rather than just using the mat tool in MDS. This way I can add shadow to the photo AND the mat, which I think looks a little bit more realistic than the shadow only being on the mat of the photo.

To add your page to this gallery and the monthly scrapbook gallery just add DGSC071 and SBC12JUL when uploading. Also, please take a minute to post a link to your sample page on this thread so we wont miss seeing your work!

Have a great week! I look forward to seeing your layouts.

Your challenge looks fun--love your sample page. I'll have to go through my brush stamps and decide what kind of page I want to make. Thanks for posting the challenge!

Thanks Wendy! I knew you would like the basketball page Wendy, and was smiling to myself while I was posting this thinking "Wendy has surely missed my basketball pages..." LOL. If you saw the photos I just posted tonight on Facebook you'll know I have more basketball pages coming soon!

I love how stamp brushes all on their own can dress a page right up!

When I see your stamp brush pages, Terri, it makes me wonder exactly why I have a gigantic stash of kits. You do such fantastic work with mostly the brushes and stamps!!

Why are they called Stamp Brushes? That confuses me. Do they work like brushes in the program or like stamps?

They look like something that has been stamped rather than an image or colored element. I know with Photoshop Elements they are found in the brushes menu. Not sure about in My Digital Studio.
