I used the self laminating sheets over one side of white cardstock. I stamped the images on the cardstock and wrote the set name and company on it also before laminating.

I found at Walmart some colored file folders that have a laminated side.. they come like 12 to a pack.. you can cut those down. I used them for my $1 stamps I unmounted
I use the laminated folders from Walmart for ALL of my stamps! I cut them down to 4" x 6" and put them in photo keepers from Iris. Word of warning: DO NOT use blue or purple folders for your clear (photopolymer) stamps - the color transfers and stains them (ask me how I know, lol!)
Do you remember when photo albums used to have those white pages with a sticky film you would put your pictures under? I got a pack of them at Target and cut them down. I put an "index sheet" under the film and the stamps stick to the outside of the film. They are really sturdy! Probably not as cheap as the folders though. I think they were $5 for a 25 pack - 8 1/2 x 11 as far as I know. I am moving and they are in a truck somewhere so I can't check!

OMG I think I have blue!! and yes you're the reason why I did mine too! LOL
I LOVE your system.. I just have not finished my little $1 stamps.. I am so overwhelmed with how many I still have to do.. and to finish my ribbon project.. (like yours) See your copy cat person admits to stalking your organizing ways ;)
I unmounted mine (except for my big background stamps) and it was the best thing I did. I'm working on on getting my reference binder complete. So easy to flip through and find the stamp I want, know what container it is in by the number and use them! I use CD holders (I bought a ton of them from someone here at splitcoast) or the SU cases. When a SU set has 2 cases for one set, I can usually get all the stamps together in one and that frees up a case to use for another project. Just trying to get the most out of them and my space.
I did this 7 years ago and love it. I put mine in a 3 ring binder. I used the clear sleeves you can use slide 8x11 1/2 paper in. I stamped the paper with the stamps, slid plastic transparency over it, put double sided tape on back of stamp and place them over thier image(then put it in the sleeve). Keeps them very organised and easy to take with me as I have all my clear blocks to put them on in a little carrier.

Ha! So glad I'm helpful SOMEwhere, lol! I'm still re-organizing mine, too - it's a never-ending project... Maybe it would be smart to stop buying more
and I have decided to put them in 6 x 9 envelopes cut in half.
I want to put the stamps onto something like transparency or something clear but not sure what i should get or use.
I went to Staples earlier and she just had really thin stuff so I wasn't sure that was it.
i need to go to Walmart or Office Max.
Any ideas?
I am using glossy photo paper or ink jet transparency sheets. I found 5x8 page protectors that I use. I stamp a sample sheet and slide the stamps in the same pocket then stack those in a basket so I can flip through them.
