What is a shoebox swap?
- Design a card that can be completed in about 10 minutes.

- make a "kit" for each person, which contains all the supplies to assemble your card, in your shoebox.
- Please label all your supplies.
- ALL EMBOSSING AND DIE-CUTTING MUST BE PRE-PREPARED.
On the outside of your shoebox:
put your name & the name of your project.
In your shoebox put:

- your “kits” = all the supplies (pre-cut and pre-punched) needed for making your project for each participant
- extras for mistakes (of which I commit daily when stamping)
- stamps,
- ink,
- written/printed instructions for your card in your shoe box and
- anything else that is needed to complete your card.
Bring as many kits as we need for participants to complete your card. THIS WILL BE ANNOUNCED CLOSER TO THE SBS.
***Participation in the SBS swap is required.***
***Participation in the other swaps are optional.***
Separate from your shoebox:
- Please bring your completed swaps if you signed up for them below.
- your own labeled items for your personal stamping needs,
- adhesive (lots of it)
- bone folder
- paper cutter/scorer
- glue dots
- scissors
- stamp cleaner and
- whatever else you can't stamp without!
Don't forget your camera!
Make and wear a nametag with your name and your SCS name.
There may be a nametag contest so keep that in mind when you’re creating yours.
In trying to lighten everyone's load.....
Lunch will be provided, paper plates, napkins, utensils, and water. If there is something you'd like to bring please let me know. Some snaks/desserts/breakfast type items might be nice.
Garage Sale – Bring your stamps and stamping supplies to sell or trade. Current Stampin’ Up! items must be offered for trade only; you can sell retired items. Sorry but we can’t be responsible for missing items so bring things at your own risk.
Goodie Bags – for everyone! Everyone will leave with a bag of fabulous goodies. The goodie bags will all have the same value with some variations in colors, etc.
Door Prizes – There will be a limited number of door prizes available, by random drawing. Donations from our own group are always welcome so let me know if you’d like to make a door prize donation and what it is. We will, of course, be awarding the +1’s from all of the swaps.
Gift Swap – You don’t have to sign up for this one, but if you would like to participate, bring a wrapped gift related to our stamping passion. We will draw for those so that everyone who brings one will also leave with one. Value on these should be about $5, and stamped projects are always appreciated! If it’s something you’d like to take home, it’s probably perfect! This swap will be done “Yankee Trader” style. Be sure to include your name somewhere inside so the lucky winner knows who to thank. REMEMBER: Stamping-related!!!
Other Stuff – Please bring your own labeled items for your personal stamping needs, including your favorite adhesive. These are the items you just can’t stamp without, like: bone folder, paper cutter/scorer, scissors, straight edge, stamp cleaner and whatever else you can't stamp without! Did I say adhesive????? Adhesive! You will likely need lots of it.
Make and wear a nametag with your name (and your SCS name) so that we know you on sight. There may be a nametag contest so keep that in mind when you’re creating yours.
Don't forget your camera!
Other things to remember: We're not running a race so SPEED is not the intent of the day. It is supposed to be a FUN day of stamping not seeing whether you can be the first one done. If you're done first, you will have ample opportunity to VISIT with your stamping friends.
Complete the registration form and forward with your $20 payment ($21 via PayPal) by 5 PM on September 15th. All funds collected will be spent on the event. Your registration is complete when your payment is received. Hope you can make it!

Hi Ladies,
I've started putting the list together of those who might be able to come. I've put the cap at 25..........if you think that is to many I can adjust to 20. Once I have the venue square I will post it. Hope everyone is enjoying this great sleeping weather!
I hope everyone has a fun safe day. God Bless America.
Hope everyone gets some stamping in. If anyone else is interested in stamping on the 6th of October let me know

Wish I could go but the 5 hour drive would kill me for a one day event... Has anyone posted the dates for the Syracuse or Canadigua gatherings yet? don't know if either are offical? Has anyone heard how Laurie is doing?

i see alot of you ladies are way up state! i live about twenty minites away from middletown!i`ve never done one of these swaps, but i might be up to it! what a nice way to meet new friends! HUGS!
I love going to gatherings, you can put faces to the names you see on line and meet new stampers. Also the idea exchange is fantastic. I get sooo many creative ideas from people just by seeing things made a different way. Everyone brings something different to a gathering, weather it be in a swap, shoe box, or sometimes even food. Don't ever be scared of not knowing anyone either - everyone is fellow stamper.

There are lots of different cruises during the day...harbor, whale watch, lighthouse, etc. The Margaret Todd goes out at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and sunset.
We arrived home about 11:15 last night...a day early. Doing laundry and reading through a ton of email today.

Hi Karen,
We'd love to have you join us. It is always a fun day and Becky is right all the ideas you come away with and spending time with people that have the same interests is great. Let me know if there is anything else you need to know.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. TGIF!:p
when we make the card kits can the papers and cardstock be mix and match as long as it`s the same design???? also do you want the kits already stamped????????????? thanks!
the shoe box project can be anything... and I mean anything that can be made in about 5-10 minuets. I have done cards, flowers, gift boxes, halloween treats, etc... It is easier to have everything cut up into the right sizes and ready to be glued together, you can stamp them ahead (especially if many ink colors are required) or you can put an ink pad or pads in the box with the stamps to be used. anything goes. Just be sure to put a good sample of what the finished object should look like. You will find that each gathering is a complete mix of talents and styles. While I like clever closures or fancy folds, Scraphead I know likes Tim Holtz and his distress style. Newbies are always welcome because we were all new at some point or another. I hope this helps and I wish I could go. It is too far to go in a day.

Hey Karen,
Becky hit it on the head for an explanation. It really is fun. I will let everyone know the specifics/place for the swap. Payment next month is fine.
Happy Stamping
