DONE, see you next time! Virtual Reali-TEA Party! Sat. 9/15/12, 11am EST
Its hard to get together with good friends for a tea party, especially when we are spread out all over the world! Each of the virtual parties I've hosted here on SCS have been so much fun, I just continue to do them!
Here's how it goes:
Before Saturday, 9/15/12, you make a tea-themed craft to share. You must have a photo that you can post to share here on the thread. Then on Saturday, 9/15/12, you make a pot or cup of your favorite tea, with your favorite snack, and log on here to this thread to join us for a Virtual Reali-TEA Party, to chat and just enjoy the good company of friends, post your craft photo and share ideas, share some great recipes and idea for tea parties, play a few games (and maybe even win a prize), etc. Get to know each other a little better and just have a relaxed morning tea with us! We generally go for about 1-2 hours on these, just so you know, but as with any good gathering of friends, some linger a little longer.
Come join our tea recipes swap too! POSTAL! TEA TIME! (Recipes involving tea) due 8/30/12 by StampinGoodDeeds at Splitcoaststampers
Tea anyone?

Well, at that time last night I was actually planting tomato plants... haha!
I had started so many inside... the last few years, they didn't do well in the seed starter trays so I overdid it this year to hopefully get some, and wouldn't you know they almost all grew! So then I had a ton. I gave away a lot, but still had so many, and I just can't bring myself to kill them or toss them... so I planted them in jsut about every planter I have around here trying to keep them growing, and the girls even planted some out in the yard. I may have tomatillos growing in the flower bed in a month or two even... haha

Some speaker at a luncheon, who was supposed to be a tea expert told us any tea over a year old should be thrown out. Well, that was three or four years ago, and I finally threw out some bags of loose tea I had even back then when I heard her speak. It is just harder to use the loose tea, (when there is just me and no company) even though I have all these loose tea gadgets! And besides that she told us "red tea" wasn't real tea.
And most of it was red, and great flavors like carmel etc. I kept some. It tastes okay to me. Anyway just a tidbit. You finding your teas reminded me.
If you want to see past teaparties we have had, here are a couple of links
to ones I have scrapped:

Looks like a lot of fun, Sharon! I have a friend in Utah who has regular teas with her sisters and all their kids/granddaughters too. I'm envious. I don't have many friends/family in this area, moved here 5 years ago, so no one to have tea with really. My SIL and MIL love tea but aren't out and about much anymore as they are in their 70s/late 80s. I am thinking about hosting a tea party though and inviting the ladies at church and such sometime to see who comes. I hosted a brunch one day but only 3 made it! Hard to get folks out it seems even for free food!

We just have tea parties when I see my DD, which is twice a year, usually, sometimes once a year. Sometimes, I get to go to teas. We had a Christmas one at our church last year. But 20 years ago when I lived in a different townk we had tea parties frequently. I would have them at my house with a full spread. The scones, the lemons, sugrar cubes, the works. We wore hats and really decorated the table. Such fun! Now, everyone is too busy to do things like that. So, i am looking forward to our 9/15 teaparty! So, do I do up my table and everything and take photos and put on here?
I didn't read your whole thread from last party. I will go back and read it now.

Sharon, your tea party scrap pages are sooo cute! What fun!
When I visit my DD in Texas we go to a Tea Room in Denton; fabulously decorated and yummy food and so many teas to choose from. Will be going again the first week of July.

Our Girl Scout service unit used to hold a Mother's Day tea every year. One troop would be responsible for tea and punch, one for finger sandwiches, one for table decorations, two or three for sweet treats. The individual troops did the invitations for their mom.

Oh I am guilty then, have had this tea for at least a few years.
Can't bring myself to toss it.
You can dress up and have a party at your place if you like, by all means, or plop around in pjs and slippers like me... : )
Whatever you enjoy!

Did I tell you I collect teapots? Also I have quite a collection of cups, because my DM downsized and gave me all of her teacup collection.
I did find a tea craft of SCS, so put it in my faves. Of course I can make cards, because I have lots and lots of tea stamps!

I am not really interested in a swap, but you could, and I would do what everyone else wants. If it would be different than the other swaps, like just one card to one person? Less work for you and us! Or if someone else has a good idea. But I don't care to do the 4 cards thing like they do.
Brainstorm!!!

Hi Dell -- Two were gifts from friends. One is a floral green one, and each of the two other friends have the same set but in a different color, so that we can have occasional virtual tea parties or conference calls. The other is a little whale one that one of them bought me while we were having a girls week in Oregon.
The third one I just bought myself, from Dayspring, with scripture, and I also gave a friend the same one too, just as my friend gave me a set like hers. Its just a nice thing to have a cup of tea using it and think of the friend as well having her own cuppa.
I have a teacup/saucer set too that is like that, where several of my friends have the same teacup/saucer set that I gave them a few years ago.

I'll be offline for the next five days or so, going to see my mom/sisters/niece/daughter to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday!
Speaking of teapots... I bought this one (link below) for my mom's birthday gift. Long story short: My sister loves to buy random little garden decorations to put in my mom's garden as surprises. Well, she found this cute little ceramic sea turtle one that is 'hatching out of an egg.' She hid it in my mom's garden and left for vacation, and my mom hadn't seen it yet. Well, while she was away, my mom came across it... she thought it was a real turtle hatching from an egg, and called my other sister panicking because she said it was stuck in the egg and hadn't moved lately, and she was wondering if it was going to die there! Even my stepdad thought it was real. My mom actually got upset thinking it was dying! They took a picture and sent it to my other sister who explained it was a garden ceramic decoration! It was hilarious...
Anyhow... this all just happened less than a month ago, so the sisters are all getting her commemorative sea turtle items. haha
