Default TLC380 ~ Either/Or, but Both is More ~ {06/04/12}

Hello stampy friend!

It's time to put on your thinking caps, get crafty and creative and try one of TWO techniques in this challenge.... OR if you're feeling up to the challenge, you can do BOTH!

~ Either/Or, but Both is More ~

First on the challenge board is the Triple Tiered Easel card. This is sort of a mesh between the cascading cards we did a few weeks back and an easel card. You can see a couple samples HERE and HERE. You can also view a step by step instruction HERE. The step by step instructions are using a simple rectangular image, but if you look at the first two samples you will see that shaped nesting dies were used.

The second challenge I am calling the See Through Image. A couple ways of achieving this.... you can stamp your image, put a die over top that is slightly smaller than your image, so that the edges of your image touch the die... then trace the die. From there you want to cut away the parts that are not your image. Make sense?

OR, you can stamp your image and use a ruler to draw a box around it so that the box touches at least two sides of your image and then cut away the parts that are not your image.

I have attached some simple examples below to help you visualize what I'm talking about. But in all honesty, if you peek at my card, you'll get a better idea.

This technique actually makes a striking CAS card if you do this on your main panel and then put designer paper on the inside of your card.

Here is my sample:

~ Kitschy Triple Tiered Easel ~

When uploading please use KEYWORD TLC380 (no spaces)

You can view the entire TLC380 gallery HERE.

Have fun!

I'm going to need fresh eyes for this one. Back at it in the morning.

I really like the triple Easel card but what are the dimensions in US? I tried to convert but it's not making any sense. Thanks

Any chance of a step by step tutorial of the Triple Tiered Easel coming from SCS?

I get frustrated with the fancy structured cards and never feel like they turn out well (maybe I'll give it a go when I finally get a Big Shot/Kick!) so I went with the "Or" option of just trying the See Through Image technique to make a Christmas card:

I just cut a piece of CS 4.25 x 11, scored at 5 and 2.5, then kinda did my own thing. The scored parts just fold over to make your back easel part.
HTH;)

Smile TLC380 Flower Joy

Holly- I did the paper piecing challenge- and made a clear plastic "window" - so you can see the blue flowers from my background patterned paper peeking through. I added some ribbon borders- here's Flower Joy

So, from what I gather, you do what DawnL said with the CS, size & scoring & then you just make it whatever shape you want???? Am I right?

Toy I don't often get to play these challenges when you post them but I will tell you that I will be doing this one in the near future. I love both-but really love the triple tiered easel. How gorgeous. What fun!
